• England is a country that is part of the United
Kingdom. It shares land borders with Wales to
the west and Scotland to the north-northwest.
The Irish Sea lies west of England and the Celtic
Sea lies to the southwest. England is separated
from continental Europe by the North Sea to the
east and the English Channel to the south.
Population 
• With over 53 million inhabitants, England is by
far the most populous country of the United
Kingdom, accounting for 84% of the combined
total. England taken as a unit and measured
against international states has the fourth largest
population in the European Union and would be
the 25th largest country by population in the
world.
London
• London is the capital and largest city of
both England and the United Kingdom
London is considered to be one of the
world's most important global cities and
has been termed the world's most
powerful most desirable most  visited most
expensive, innovative, sustainable, most
popular for work, and the most friendly
 city in the world.

for the Great Bell of the
clock at the north end of
the Palace of
Westminster in London a
nd is usually extended to
refer to both the clock
and the clock tower.
