 Myths are stories made by people who wanted to explain
how or why the world works (How can we be? How should
we treat others? Why events happen?)
 Myths are a sort of ancients vision of science, used to
explain why natural events occurred.
 The myths are passed from parents to their kids, and also
these kids when grown up passed also to their own Kids.
 The word myth comes from ancient Greek “mythos”
meaning a word of mouth.
 Myths were shared by groups around the world and became
a great part of their communities. Eg. Greek mythology
 Sometimes the myths were given importance so that people
used to celebrate them with big parties.
 Exagerated stories about real people
 Legends are about real people and what they
did.
 One of the most important characteristic of the
legends is that are exaggerated histories just to
make them interesting and exciting.
 Generally some of the facts are dramatically
changed in the person the legend is about
 Stories with morals
 Passed down
 Characters are animals that can talk
 Fables are also histories passed down.
 The objective is to teach a lesson.
 The main characteristic of the fables is that they
involve characters such as animals, plants or
other natural forces that can talk and act as
humans.
 For kids
 Revolve around magic
 Fairy tales are most popular in our days.
 Fairy tales are specifically written for kids.
 Fairy tales are often involved into magic events
 In these kind of stories there are always good
characters and evil characters.
 The fairy tales usually begin with a sentence
saying “Once upon in a time…”
