INTRODUCTION
Now a days, companies are producing narrow track car to
decrease the traffic congestion.
But narrow car has a tendency of rolling.
To minimize this auto tilting car is required.
In present project design and fabrication of tilting mechanism
for narrow track is explained
PROBLEM STATEMENT
• There is possibility of accident due to slippage, while we turn
our vehicle very sharply.
• Also on two wheeler we don’t get comfort like four wheeler.
• We didn’t get
banking on unbanked
curve road, it
decreases the speed
of vehicle
OBJECTIVES
1. To provide directional stability
2. Increased load carrying capacity
3. Reduce accident due to skidding
4. The objective of this project work is to successfully develop
a design of a tilting mechanism for automobile
5. The aim of this tilting mechanism is to provide banking to
vehicle on unbanked curves, so as to enable added threshold
speed on curves
WHAT IS THREE WHEELER
AUTO TILTING VEHICLE
A three wheeler auto tilting vehicle is a three-wheeled
vehicle whose body and or wheels tilt in the direction
of the turn.
Such vehicles can corner safety and comfortable
despite having a narrow track
The vehicle consists of central mass and three wheels ,
two located in the front with two shock absorbers
connected to the flexible or adjustable connecting rods
METHODOLOGY
Methodolgy adopted to use standard and presently used
components in design
1) Two wheels at front 2) Two shock absorbers
3) Adjustable connecting links
4) Fixed connecting links
5) Handle Fork

WORKING
• The design consists of
parallelogram link to maintain
the stability while taking a
curve at high speed with tilting
mechanism.
• The system is equipped with
the central steering as well as central suspension system in
accordance to maintain the speed of vehicle constant without losing
its stability during a turn
CASE STUDY
Fig 1 ,shows the graph of velocity vs steering angle, where the
steering angle decreases with increase in velocity

FUTURE SCOPE
The car design in itself is futuristic and can be soon find in
some production versions of four wheeled tilting cars.
A feature can be added to existing suspension using minor
programming change
We can use this mechanism in heavy vehicles and trailors.
CONCLUSION
This mechanism is designed and fabricated for narrow track
car.
The tilting mechanism gives satisfactory performance while
taking a sharp turns.
It reduces accidents which occurs due to skidding.
It gives the comfortable ride.
It also increases the threshold velocity of tilting vehicle in a
curve.
