conceptually similar, but each has a specific application and
purpose.

• API 1104 is a good example of the concept, so learning to


use this code willMhelp you learn to use others as well.

• API 1104 applies to welding of piping used in the


compression, pumping, and transmission of petroleum
products, fuel gases, carbon dioxide, and nitrogen.

Before you start Exam:

• You should attach index tabs to the first page of each


section of your copy of the API 1104 to make referencing
the section an easier task, and highlight significant tables
and figures that you will use frequently.

• API 1104 has 13 sections and two appendices (appendix A


& appendix B).

During the exam (2 hours to answer 60)
There are three steps to passing the open book code exam:

1. Understand the question.

2. Know what section of the Code your answer will be


located and locate it.

3. Mark your answer key with the correct answer and be


sure.

shall the images still be interpretable?

Look it up:

Correct Answer:
• When requested by the company, film or other imaging media shall be processed, handled,
and stored so that the images are interpretable for at least 3 years after they are produced.
