Social media plays an important role in everyone’s life. It helps us to communicate
with those who are not in contact with us over a long period of time. Those who are
close to us but are not staying with us. People are more addicted towards it. Social
media helps us to get ourselves updated and to know about changes happening in our
life as well as what is happening in the world. With the social media we are making
our life more easier.

 It helps us to keep up with the latest updates.
 Social media communication has converted the world into a small global village.
 Now a days world wide users of social media is 1.96 billion.

 Social media has increased brand awareness and loyalty.
 It runs targeted ads with real time results.
 Generating higher converting leads.
 Finding out what your competitors are doing.
 It is increasing the number of sales surprisingly.
Positive Impacts of Social Media
 Connectivity : People from any where can connect with anyone.
 Education : It is easy to educate from others who are experts and professionals
via the social media.
 Help : One can share his issues with the community to get help and guide.
 Information and Updates : One can get latest information and updates around
the world through social media.
 Improves Business Reputation : It can improve business sales, reputation and
goodwill through positive comments and share.
Negative Impacts of Social
Media
 Addiction : The teenagers are the most affected by
the addiction of social medias and they are getting
involved very extensively and are eventually cut of
from the society.
 Cyberbullying : Now a days anyone can create a
fake account and do anything without being traced,
it has become quite easy for anyone bully on the
social media.
 Hacking : Personal data and privacy can easily be
hacked and shared on the social media.
Negative Impacts of

 Suicide : Children and juveniles who exhibit signs of being bullied
are at greater risk of being suicidal when social media is involved.
 Reputation : Social media can easily ruin someone’s reputation just
by creating a false story and spreading across the social media.
 Cheating and relationship issues : Couples have cheated each
other by showing the fake feelings and incorrect information
through social media.
 Health issues : The excess usage of social media can also have a
negative impact on health.
Recommendations
Thinking before engage.
Considering communities.
Being accurate.
Adding value to the conversation.
Being transparent.
Protecting confidentiality.
Conclusion
To be fair and honest we need to mention that social
media has its positive outcomes and has its drawbacks as
well. It is our choice to either use social media in a
positive way and benefit from it in your social and
academic life or fall as victim of social medias negative
impacts.
