A. PHYSICAL EDUCATION
•Physical education and health are played a pertinent role. It helps mainly in the prevention of disease. One
should know that health benefits are proportional to the amount of physical activity. It is rightly said that the
benefits of physical activity are clearly established. Regular physical activity reduces the risk of:

1. Premature mortality
2. Coronary heart disease
3. Hypertension
4. Colon cancer and
5. Diabetes mellitus
Moreover, physical activity also improves mental health. There must be a rising trend to move towards a holistic
approach towards health and physical activity with the concept of wellness. A healthy lifestyle is not solely
limited to physical activity. It encompasses health as freedom from disease is a standard of mediocrity, health as
a quality of life is a standard of inspiration and increasing achievement. The awareness of health-related fitness
knowledge may counter negative lifestyle behaviors which include limited physical activity, high levels of
academic stress, poor diet, and increased alcohol use. The message is clear that for a nation prosper everyone
should be physically active. It should be borne in mind that we cannot separate the health and physical
education course. The direction should be a proper combination of the health course with the physical
education course to get the immense benefit.
B. PHYSICAL FITNESS

beneficial physical effects, but do not qualify as
exercise.
D. WELLNESS

•Wellness is a multifaceted term. It is not merely about physical


fitness. It is about feeling healthy inside out. It is a state which
optimizes our potential to the maximum. It is living a fuller and more
fulfilling life and not simply surviving. Thus, wellness consists of
emotional, mental, social, and spiritual health too. Wellness is about
feeling healthy, happy, and prosperous from within. Wellness is a
process and a journey. A journey towards leading a life of conscious
choices. Wellness is a holistic approach. It is about an all-round
development of the self
E. HEALTHY
The words "health" or "healthy" can also be
