INTRODUCTION
• This project is to develop such a machine which automatically weighs and fills the product with
the help of microcontroller and sensors.
• The idea is to manually place the bag, then automatic weighing, filling is done. The purpose of
doing this project is to reduce human efforts and time consumption.
• Decreasing machine cost is the major advantage of project. The machine design is based on
simple mechanisms and it can be installed easily.
• The speed of machine is increased thus resulting in more production and business.

RESEARCH PROJECT AREA
• This automatic machine provide a wide array of application for the different
industries. The greatest assets of the machine that are manufactured in the market
is that their advanced and the provide effective co-ordination with the other
processes of production in the best possible manner.
• So we need to make the machine which is cheap, it will be affordable to small and
medium scale Businesses. This will result in increase in production and business.
The accuracy is increased and time consumption will be decreased.
PROBLEM STATEMENT
• Many small and medium scale production business owners have to do the process
of weighing and filling manually.
• This process is time consuming and it limits their business and production.
• The cheapest machine available in India costs around Rs. 1.25 lakhs which is not
affordable to small and medium scale businesses.
OBJECTIVE OF THE PROPOSED WORK
The major objectives of the project are:
I. To design a machine which provides clean bag filling
II. To design a machine which is space saving
III. To design a machine which is easy to handle and which runs on simple
mechanical operations.
IV. To create a mechanism this would deliver the filled product
V. To create a machine which would be stable while operations

Tarun Gupta, Sangeeta PLC S7300 This paper is published on 2018 and it refers the the modeling of a automatic filling
Kamboj [1] system using PLC and SCADA has been done in the paper. The fundamental reason for
PLC in automation is utilized to control the entire system and the major reason for
utilizing SCADA is to monitor process and store data for future improvement.
Nathan Spiegel, Sean Technical specifications of This paper is published on June 2017 and it tells that though their team initially set
Ivey [2] PLC Mitsubishi FX2n32MT out to design and manufacture a prototype of the automated filling machine, they found
that the time they had in Wuhan would not be sufficient. However, we are very pleased
with the results of our work.
Alhade A. Algitta , Technical specifications of This Paper is published on January 2017 An automated packaging machine prototype
Mustafa S. , Ibrahim F. PLC Mitsubishi FX2n31MT using PLC Mitsubishi FX 2N has been successfully design, constructed and implement
, Abdalruof N. and based on control system concepts. Mitsubishi ladder diagram applied for the
Yousef M. [3] programming and operation of the presented prototype, in which the operation is passes
through two stages, carrying empty boxes to desired location, and packaging the
samples into the boxes. The experimental prototype tested to improve the automation
processes with the use of the PLC ladder diagram. The packaging prototype was done to
package four sample per a box in very short time.
Shashank Lingappa, PIC16F877a has programming This paper is published on December 2018 we analyzed that how to design a
Vijayavithal Bongale , language for programmable automatic filling of different sized products based on PIC. Ultrasonic sensor senses the
Sreerajendra [4] control systems leading and lagging end of the product, These motivates us to preparing this kind of
model for filling product.

Comparison Between Existing and Proposed
Technology
EXISTING TECHNOLOGY PROPOSED TECHNOLOGY:
1. The existing system including PLC 1. The new system includes PIC
controller. It consumes more power. microcontroller. It consumes less power
as compared to the PLC.
2. A PLC is a complete system, probably 2. A PIC is a micro-controller, a single chip
using many chips, so it's larger and not as computer, as such it's very small and very
versatile versatile.
3. The cost of PLC system are not 3. As if we use PIC microcontroller, which
affordable for small scale industry(upto effective in cost are affordable for any
1.25 lakhs) industry(as compared to less than PLC)
RESULTS AND DISCUSSION
• Design of machine which provides clean bag filling was done.
• The machine was designed which provides simple mechanical operation.
• This prototype provides Direct filled product

CONCLUSION
• An automated filling machine prototype using PIC 16F877a microcontroller has
been successfully design, constructed and implement based on control system
concepts.
• From experimental result, the automatic carton filling machine is able to fill 16
boxes in 1 minute, otherwise manual filling able to fills 14 boxes at same time
• C language applied for the programming and operation of the presented prototype,
in which the operation is passes through two stages, carrying object to desired
location, and filling the samples into the boxes.
• In this way we implement the 4th paper which is based on PIC. (Shashank
Lingappa, Vijayavithal Bongale , Sreerajendra [4])
FUTURE SCOPE
• In this prototype we filled square shaped product in future we can filled different
shapes of product and also gives the variation in filling.
• This automatic weighing and filling machine can be used widely in packaging
industries, food industries, pharmaceutical, dairy products industries Further
research will lead to minimization of automation cost for large scale industries
also.
