(PDSRU)
• Notified in all four provinces & Regions and it is FELTP teaching site
• PDSRU Quetta established at DGHS office in 2014
• Linked with Federal DSRU NIH Islamabad
• Each Year FELTP fellows (3 Seats) in Balochistan staffed and to conduct disease
surveillance and outbreak response (Event Based Surveillance)
• 2 Years MSc Epidemiology course (Academic HEC 18 years Program) with on job Training
• Certified CDC Diploma Course
• FELTP will continue the technical support always through its faculty and trained fellows.

• Conducted training of designated Coronavirus HCPs of District Quetta on IPC, Hand


Wash, Donning & Doffing with Support of PBSA and WHO. The target audience were
screening staff, case transfer staff and isolation ward staff. Number of participants
were 42. The participants were medical officers, paramedic staff, Nurses,
Laboratorial, screening staff at PoE.

• Conducted training of nursing staff of BMCH Quetta on Corona virus IPC, Hand
Wash, Donning & Doffing with Support of PBSA and WHO. The number of
participants were 65.

• No vehicle for emergency response at DGHS Office

• Lack of Logistic supply

• No surveillance officers at district level


Way Forward
• Sustainability of PDSRU in terms of provision of logistic and Others
(medicine/lab) for proper functioning of Program

• Extension of RRT & Front Line Trainings

• PC 1 approval for Disease Surveillance

• Placement of DSOs to functionalize DDSRUs

• Extension & Integration of IDSR System with DHIS and other vertical
programs

• Data Server for DHIS-2 to be installed at DGHS Office Balochistan
