Using the Advanced

Features of a Slide Tool


▸ Microsoft Powerpoint is a presentation prgoram that allows you to create visuals
or slides in delivering your message easily and more entertaining. It is a product
of the multimedia technology in which the learning experience is enhanced or
improved.
▸ To make your presentation more engaging , Powerpoint has advanced features
for adding videos, audios, and hyperlinks.

▸ Add Video
Adding video to a Powerpoint presentation will make it exciting and fun.
1. Choose the slide where you want to insert a vidoe . Click the insert tab. Then
go the media group.
2. Click the Videos button. Click the file, then Insert.
3. Find the videos file that you want to insert. Click the file, then Insert.
4.The video is now inserted in the slides . Adjust the size of the video according

to your preference.
5. Right-click the video to customize it.

▸ Add Audio
Adding audio to a Powerpoint presentation will make it interesting and enjoyable.
1. Choose the slide where you want to insert an audio . Click the Insert tab , then go
to the Media group.
2. Click the small downward button below the Audio button, then choose Audio on
My PC.
3. Find the audio file that you want to insert. Click the file, then click Insert. The
sound icon will appear in your slide.
4. Reposition the audio icon in your slide.
5. Right-click the audio icon to customize it.

▸ Animation

1. Click the image, text, or textbox you would like to animate. Go to the Animations tab.
2. Click the second downward button for more specific options. Click the following buttons to show more
effects in each type.

a. More Entrance Effects


b. More Emphasis Effects

c. More Exit Effects


d. More Motion Effects

3. Customize the animations in the Animation Pane by rearranging the sequence, changing the effects
options, indicating the timing, among others.

4. Click the Play All button to preview the effects used in the slide. You may also click the Preview button
on the left.

▸ Hyperlink
Hyperlink in texts or images connect them to another file or website.
1. Choose the text or image you want to have as a link in your slide. Highlight then
right-click it.
2. Go to the Insert tab , click the Link button in the Links group.
3. Choose from the options found in the Hyperlink dialog box. Once done, click Ok.
4. The text becomes colored blue and is underlined.
5. Hover the pointer over the hyperlinked text to follow the link.
