An aurora is a natural light display in the sky that occurs when charged particles from the sun interact with a planet's magnetic field. There are two main types - Aurora Borealis in the northern hemisphere and Aurora Australis in the southern hemisphere. While beautiful to observe, auroras can negatively impact telecommunications and signals.
