Education today is too risky and full of uncertainties. Our 21st century learners are used to
doing more activities in the field that enhanced their capabilities but due to this Covid-19 Pandemic, the
normal face-to-face classes are impossible to attain. Despite the multiple challenges and struggles faced
by DepEd, it never ceased on finding ways to continually provide good quality education to Filipino
learners.
To adapt with the overflowing changes in the system, DepEd introduced various learning
modalities. One of these is Modular Learning in which public schools preferred due to limited resources.
Teachers also sought themselves to be more techy and discover new strategies in addressing the needs of
their diverse learners.
This Practicum Portfolio summarizes all that the teacher did during the School Year 2020-2021.
It displays artifacts such as the Lesson Plans, module adjustments, CPD certificates, and proofs of
conversations with the learners, parents and colleagues in service. This will also serve as a benchmark
for the teacher’s performance and accomplishments annually.

ARTIFACT 1: Individual Learning Monitoring Plans
PPST Strand: 3.2 Learners’ gender, needs, strengths, interests and experiences
Annotation: To monitor the performance and development of each learner, the ILMPs show interventions done by the teacher
for the learners who had great needs in class. I took down notes and send letters to parents for them to be aware of their child’s
performance. If they still don’t progress, I give them definition of terms in Cebuano language and have them answer simpler
activities which are suited to their intellectual capacity. Whenever interventions don’t work out, I think of another one until the
learner performs satisfactorily.

ARTIFACT 2: Lesson Plans (e.g. DLP, DLL, WHLP, WLP, WLL, Lesson Exemplars, and the likes)
PPST Strand: 3.4 Learners in difficult circumstances; 4.1 Planning and management of teaching and learning process; 4.2
Learning outcomes aligned with learning competencies; 5.1 Designing, selection, organization and utilization of assessment
strategies
Annotation:
In my WLP, I highlighted the performance tasks that I simplified for the learners to attain satisfactory grades. Upon
checking the modules, I noticed that plenty of their activities were designed for independent readers while most of my pupils are
dependent ones. To make sure that learning will occur, I used comprehensive words in my activities.

ARTIFACT 3: Teacher-made / Modified Learning Resources
PPST Strand: 4.5 Teaching and learning resources including ICT
Annotation:
The Self-Learning Modules provided to the learners usually use terms that are difficult for them to comprehend. To
address their needs, I translate most of their lessons or just write definition of terms using Cebuano language. Pictures of
examples were also provided so they can still learn more by exploring their imaginations even if their experiences in the field are
limited due to the pandemic. In Mathematics, I translated the steps in solving for the answers and had given varied, basic
examples. The teacher used ICT in producing teaching and learning resources for better results.

ARTIFACT 4: Certificates of Participation in any Professional Development (PD) Activities
PPST Strand: 7.3 Professional Links with Colleagues
Annotation:
For a teacher to improve professionally and personally, he/she must be courageous in accepting new challenges related to
his/her profession. I took some trainings which are aligned to my Professional Development Plan which include Literacy
Instruction, ICT (Autodesk and Photoshop), and DCP Usage Orientation (Google Apps and Usage). As a teacher, I used what I’ve
gained in creating Instructional Materials and worksheets for my learners especially those who are struggling in their
performance.

ARTIFACT 5: Reflective Summary
PPST Strand: 7.4 Professional Reflection and Learning to Improve Practice
This collection of work reflects my abilities as a Grade 6 teacher yet there is a big part of me that says
“There is more that I should have done”. I’m not a hundred percent satisfied of what I have achieved this School
Year because the learnings I imparted to my learners were insufficient. I used to give my learners outdoor
activities, well-instructed projects, PowerPoint presentations and video clips which I believe helped them explore
and discover the realities in life. Now, the learners have limited experiences coupled with problems arising due to
modules with English medium. As a result, they lose the motivation to study and just submit not so excellent
outputs. Encouraging them and arousing their interest weren’t that easy because we only got the chance to talk to
their parents and my pupils only communicate with me thru texts, chats or calls.
Through this LDM course, I somewhat realized that I did good even with limited resources and
strategies. I could also make use of this portfolio as a benchmark for my next collection in the upcoming School
Year. Truly each challenge in our lives is another chance to LEARN. We just have to be optimistic and discover the
innate creativity and talent that we, teachers always have.

ARTIFACT 1: MOVs on engaging learners for their progress and achievement
PPST Strand: 5.2 Monitoring and evaluation of learners progress and achievement;
5.3 Feedback to improve learning
Annotation:
For the learners to do well in class, they must have a good communication with their teachers. That’s why I sent them
feedback tools so that I am also aware of how they felt and perhaps adjust my strategies. I also sent them their weekly scores in
their worksheets and write personal notes for them to be inspired or simply to submit a project. I made a groupchat for my class to
send important messages, information and answer some of their queries.

ARTIFACT 2: MOVs on professional engagement with colleagues
PPST Strand: 7.3 Professional links with colleagues
Annotation:
Teachers must also communicate well to produce good quality outputs. To continually learn and be productive in our
field, we need to have online LAC sessions, faculty meetings and Cluster-Based In-service Trainings. Updates, new information
and deadlines are always discussed in sessions. These would also maintain our rapport with our colleagues in service and keep us
away from stress, boredom and depression during this pandemic.

ARTIFACT 3: MOVS on engaging key stakeholders in the teaching learning process
PPST Strand: 5.4 Communication of learner needs, progress and achievement to key stakeholders
Annotation:
To have a constant communication with the parents, I write announcements and reminders every week and attach them
to the children’s notebooks. Scores of their activities are also included so parents know the performance of their kids. I always
make myself available to answer their queries through texts, chats or calls. Their kids’ outputs and answered activity sheets were
also collected before they get the new set. Proper communication with my parents made my work easier and spontaneous.

ARTIFACT 3: MOVS on engaging key stakeholders in the teaching learning process
PPST Strand: 6.2 Engagement of parents and the wider school community in the educative process
Annotation:
When parents are involved in the learning process of their children, the results are more likely positive. The Homeroom
PTA Meeting we conducted made us meet at the middle and have win-win decisions for the betterment of our learners. The
teaching–learning process is always successful when the voice of every individual is heard and concerns are properly addressed.
