Unlike flannelboard stories, you only need to
grab a piece of paper and something to write
with to prepare for this fun form of
storytelling. It only takes a few minutes to
tell the story, and you can easily continue the
lesson by allowing the children to draw what
you have drawn, and/or by inviting them to
help you draw other things that illustrate the
story

Chin. Chin had in his hand a paintbrush.

The emperor cried out, “


Are you an artist?”
“Yes”, answered Chin,
“I am”
The emperor asked,
“What do you paint?”
Chin answered, “I paint
what my eyes can see.”

The emperor clapped.


“Can you draw a
dragon?”
Chin said, “I can try.”
With a few strokes of
his paintbrush, Chin
painted a flaming red
crown.

The emperor stared at the


painting. It was the perfect
Chinese Dragon. Chin was
given a place of honor at the
palace and the dragons
covered the palace wall.
