INTRODUCTION

 The most common symptom of musculoskeletal problems is pain. The most common
reason for a patient to seek medical help is pain.
 "An unpleasant sensory and emotional experience that is often related with actual or
potential tissue damage," according to the definition of pain.
 Agnikarma is one of the numerous therapeutic procedures in Ayurveda that are explained
by acharyas.
 Agnikarma has been referenced by Acharya Sushruta in the treatment of Granthi, Arsha,
Bhagandar, Arbuda, Shlipad, Antra Vrana, Nadi Vrana, and joint problems. [2] Acharya
Charak has not discussed Agnikarma because it is a parasurgical treatment.

 Agnikarma is the application of heat to the damaged part, either directly or indirectly,
utilising various materials.
 If Agnikarma is utilised in such ailments, according to Sushruta, there will be fewer
chances of recurrence and it will be successful in curing diseases that are incurable by
drugs and surgery.
Need of the study

If nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medicines (NSAIDs) are used for a longer period of time in
chronic musculoskeletal problems, they can produce serious adverse effects; hence, there is a
growing need to find a more efficient, safe, and cost-effective alternative.
Materials
Method

 Agnikarma is a technique that is used to treat a variety of muscle and joint ailments.
 The Shalya Chikitsa's most significant procedure is: (surgical treatment). It is made up of
two words: Agni and Karma. "When Agni created Samyaka Dagdha Vrana with the help
of numerous Dravyas, it was known as Agnikarma."
 Agnikarma (Thermal Cautery) is a process in which heat is delivered to the damaged
portions of the body using a metal Shalaka (metal rod). Agnikarma encompasses a variety
of procedures in which heat is employed directly or indirectly.

 Agnikarma is the most successful and superior surgical method. Agnikarma plays a
significant role in the Vataj and Kaphaj Vyadhi, which involve the Dhatu, which are
mostly associated with Puthvi and Aap Mahabhuta.
 In the action of burning, Agni (fire) is better than alkali; this is said because ailments
healed by burning do not reoccur, and also because disorders that are incurable by the use
of medicines, sharp instruments, and alkalis can be cured by Agnikarma.
 Dalhana has mentioned Agnitapta Shastras as a way to avoid sepsis during surgery.
Agnikarma can also be used after Shastra Karma to prevent recurrence, such as in the case
of Kadara Sastrakarma. Agnikarma is regarded as better to other treatments because of
these characteristics.
Dahana Vishesha is the mark of figure produced on the skin after Agnikarma Chikitsa are as
follow:
1. Valaya (Circle): Agnikarma done at the site of disease in circular manner.
2. Bindu (Dot): In this the tip of Shalaka Yantra is heated till red hot and applied at the site of
Vikṛuti in the shape of dot.
3. Vilekha (Parallel line): In this line in zig zag manner are produce with red hot Shalaka at
the site of application of Agnikarma.
4. Pratisarana (Rubbing) : In this affected part is rubbed with red hot Shalaka Ardhchand
