How to cook Adobo
The first thing to do is marinate the
pork belly in soy sauce and crushed
garlic. It is best to marinate it
overnight. If time is limited, one hour
should be enough. Some like to add
vinegar during the process. You may do
so if preferred.Drain the marinade.
Save it for later. The marinated pork
needs to be browned. Heat a cooking
pot. Add pork with garlic. You can also
add a few tablespoons of cooking oil.
Cook the pork until it turns brown.
Cook the pork until tender. Do this by
pouring the remaining marinade, if any.
Also add water. Let the liquid boil. This
is the part where I put the whole
peppercorn and dried bay leaves. These
ingredients complete my pork adobo.
Boiling for 40 minutes should be enough to
tenderize the pork. There are times when
you have to cook longer. If you have not
added the vinegar as part of the marinade,
pour it into the pot and let it cook for
10 minutes. Salt is an optional ingredient
for this recipe. Use it only if you think
it is needed.

Black ,white and brown
by: Nemah N. Hermosa

Once upon a time , there were no

people. There was only the earth and the
God Kabunian. He said, "The earth us a
beautiful place. But who will take care
of it? I will make people."
In the afternoon, The Kabunian got some
clay. He worked for long time. When he
finished making a man, it was night. The
color of the night became the color of
the man.'He is too dark", Kabunian said.
The next morning Kabunian woke up
before sunrise. He got some clay. He
made a man. When the sun came up,
Kabunian saw the man. "He is too
white, " Kabunian said.So Kabunian
got more clay. He made another man.
It was noon. The hot sun made the
brown man. "I like this brown man,"
said Kabunian.Kabunian sent the men
to different parts of the earth.
That is why there are black people
and white people. That is why
Filipinos are brown.
Questions:
1. Who was the creator of the
earth and men?
2. Who did Kabunian created
to take care of the earth?
3. Why did he created men?
4.What kind of man did he
make during the night? in the
morning?
Thank you:)
