Pragmatic, iconic, analogical, and canonic are four types of design discussed. Pragmatic design uses available materials practically, while iconic design creates culturally significant and influential solutions. Analogical design makes connections between disciplines by deriving systems from nature. Canonic design incorporates proportional rules to aid construction.
