11. SINCERITY
a.) What is SINCERITY ?
• Sincerity is the virtue which makes it easier for
us to tell the truth (the whole truth and nothing
but the truth) to those who have the right to
know.
b.) Why it is important for us
to live the virtue of sincerity ?
• The only way to advance in our spiritual life is by being
sincere. When we live sincerely with ourselves, we see
our weak and strong points(instead of hiding them from
us and from others); thus , we can improve in our
weaknesses and take
advantage of our
strengths in order to
serve God.
12. HUMILITY
a.) What is HUMILITY ?
• Humility is the virtue by which we
control our desire for personal
greatness and leads us to love ourselves
in the proper way, keeping in mind our
relationship with God and our
neighbors.
b.) Why it is important for us to
live the virtue of humility ?
• Together with selfishness, we have a tendency
to make ourselves important before the eyes
of our fellowmen. It is true that we should
love ourselves, but we should do so in the
proper way- without lessening our love for
God and for others, and much less putting
the down, hating them or not responding to
their needs.
13. HOLY PURITY
a.) What is HOLY PURITY ?
• Holy purity is a virtue that inclines us to keep our body
and soul free from all forms of uncleanliness and lust.
• Holy purity is not a negative virtue, by
which we do not do indecent acts.
Rather, it is our response to God’s love
- because we also love Him very much,
we give Him our whole self clean and
without stain.
b.) Why it is important for us to
live the virtue of holy purity ?
• When we live the virtue of holy purity, we try our best to be
free from uncleanness( usually in the form of lustful
thoughts and actions).
Like in any other virtue, we have to ask
the help of God to reject all temptations
against holy purity at once (for example,
by not entering indecent thoughts,
desires or conversations right from
the start.
14. ORDER
a.) What is ORDER?
• Order is the arrangement of things following a certain
method. We can have order in our things, in our actions,
in our work or study, and in how we use our time.
• It is very important to be orderly in
little things since through this we
can also become orderly in
greater things.
b.) Why it is important for us to
live the virtue of order ?
• Order is important in all aspects of our life, above all in
our relationship with God. We should make it a point to
be orderly in our spiritual life (especially in doing our
daily prayers, in receiving sacraments and in
studying the teachings of God)
this will help make our
relationship with others more
orderly also.
15. OBEDIENCE
a.) What is OBEDIENCE?
• Obedience is the virtue that inclines us to follow the will
of another person who has the right to command (that is,
our legitimate superiors, such as our parents, teachers,
parish priest, government, etc.)
• Above all, we must obey God because
He is our creator and knows what is
best for us.
b.) Why it is important for us to
live the virtue of obedience ?
• When we are obedient, it becomes easier for us to get
what is good for us and for others. Obedience does not
limit our freedom, but instead guides us along a safe path
given to us by those who take care of us and those
who know more.
