2 Types of Culture:
Material- Material culture refers to tangible objects belonging to a
group of people.

Non- material- non-material culture is the beliefs, values, and


norms within the society.

Primary Socialization
• socialization during the
earliest life of an
individual.

Example: An eleven-month-old
baby boy is being taught by his
mom to hug his older brother.

Secondary Socialization
• the process where

Example: A grade twelve student is


learning to use the famous
application “Tiktok” through her
classmates.

Anticipatory Socialization
• the process by which an
individual learns the culture
of a group with expectation
of joining that group.

student chooses to join Chess
Club, she is expected to be
trained with her teammates
every Friday during Physical
Education time.

Resocialization
• the process of declining former
conduct and accepting new ones as
part of changes in one's life.
Example: A young adult who had
been into alcoholism since he was
18 years old chose to be
rehabilitated. (changing his
lifestyle and embracing new and
