 Deals with the use of different communication
technologies such as:
 Mobile Phones  Camera
 Telephone  Typewriter
 Internet  Computer/Laptop
 Television  etc.

 ICT - locate, save, send, and edit information.
Information and Communication Technology (ICT)

 Is a study of computers as data processing tools. It


introduces students to the fundamentals of using
computer systems in an Internet environment.

 World Wide Web


 An interconnected system of public webpages
accessible through the internet.
 Was invented by Sir Tim Berners-Lee in 1989.
Web 1.0
 Also known as static web page was the first web page used,
when the World Wide Web was invented.
 Its features are just stationary and the page is "as is" and
cannot be manipulated by the user.
 The content is also the same for all users.
WEB 2.0

- Web 2.0 is the evolution of Web 1.0.


- Known as Dynamic Web pages, it allows the users to
create content and interact with each other, and also the
user can see a website differently than others.

1. Folksonomy
It allows users to categorize and classify/arrange
information using freely chosen keywords (e.g.,
tagging).
This is also referred to as a hashtag. sign (#).

2. Rich User Experience
Content is dynamic and responsive to the user’s input.
An example would be a website that shows local
content. In the case of social networking sites, when
logged on, your account is used to modify what you
see on their website.
3. User Participation
 The owner allows the user to comment, review or
evaluate content.
4. Long Tail
 Services are offered on demand rather than on a
one-time purchase.
5. Software as a Service

 Users will subscribe to a software-only when needed rather


than purchasing them.
 This is a cheaper option if you do not always need to use
software.
 SaaS allows each user to access programs via the Internet,
instead of having to install the software on the user's
computer.
6. Mass Participation
 It is a diverse information sharing through universal
web access.
 Since most users can use the Internet, Web 2.0’s
content is based on people from various cultures.
Web 3.0
- Is also known as the semantic web.
 Provide controlled data access.
 Digital twin data sharing.

- According to technopedia, Web 3.0 is a work in
progress until now.

 A. Technological Convergence – is a technology that
allows users to access all these information in one
device, in one’s preferred space and time.

discuss, modify, and exchange user-generated content.

- These are sites that allow you to connect with other
people with the same interests or background.
2. Bookmarking Sites
- These are sites that allow you to store and manage

- These are sites that allow users to post their own news
items or links to other news sources.
4. Media Sharing
- These are sites that allow you to upload and share
media content like images, music, and video.
5. Microblogging
- These are sites that focus on short updates from the
user.
6. Blogs and Forums
- These websites allow users to post their content.

 The popularity of smartphones and tablets has taken a major rise over
the years. This is largely because of the devices’ capability to do tasks that
were originally found in personal computers.

user.
 One whole sheet of paper.
 Research one momentous event in Philippine history wherein ICT
played a huge role in making it a success.
