Speaking Part 1
Interview about sky
Ask and answer
these questions
1. Do you like to look at the sky?
2. Where is the best place to watch
the sky in your city?
3. Do you like to watch the sky in the
morning or in the evening?
4. Do you know a lot about stars?
5. Why should children learn about
stars and planets?
Sky-gazing is actually my favourite activity
as I really appreciate the beauty and
complexity of the universe. Moreover, the
might and grandeur of the sky make me
feel humble.

Do you like to watch the sky?

“I’m not a person of sky watching because it
is such a waste of time. There are many other
things I need to complete such as my
homework or household chores. I feel like I
have been fooled when I figured out that stars
do not twinkle like they do in the song I
know.”
Do you like to watch the sky?
Where is the best place to watch
the sky in your city?

I think the best spot for skygazing in Hanoi is on

the rooftop of Lotte Landmark as there is an
observatory for astrology enthusiast like me to
watch the sky with unobstructed view.
Where is the best place to watch
the sky in your city?

I live in a big city where there is a high level of

light pollution and unfortunately, it blocks the
view of the star. But if I go outside of the city,
there are mountains and hills that I can enjoy the
picturesque sky view.
Do you like to watch the sky in the morning
or in the evening?
The sky is of huge difference between day and night, and the reason for this is the
Sun

- Night sky: the sun is hidden behind the Earth, dark view → witness magical
natural event (lunar eclipse, solar eclipse, meteor, …) offer the tranquility I
need
- Daytime sky: appear blue, very bright, suitable to outdoor activities such as
hangout with friends or playing sports, harmful eyesight, …
Do you know a lot about stars?

Yeah quite a lot as I’m very interested in astronomy. You know, stars are actually
balls of gas, mostly hydrogen and helium, held together by its own gravity. They
are so massive that the pressure inside are capable of causing an explosive
nuclear reaction.

I have to say I’m like a fish out of water when it comes to astronomy. However,
I do know a bit about zodiac signs which relate to the cosmic representation of a
person date of birth. I’m a Taurus, reigned by Venus, a star and the goddess of
beauty and abundance in the Greek Myth.
Should kids know more about
the stars and planets?
Yes, without doubt. Having intensive knowledge
about our universe can help children satisfy their
curiosity, broaden the horizons and become
smarter. Furthermore, knowing that Earth is the
only planet that supports life will help children
appreciate our Earth more. As a result they will
become aware of environmental protection.
