Origin of Rubella

The virus Rubella also known as (German measles) was discovered by


a German physician. The top countries with the most rubella cases
are in Yemen and Uganda and it usually spreads between children
ages 5-9. Fun fact: the name rubella is derived from Latin, meaning,
little red.

How does  There are many ways that Rubella can spread but the two
main ways is by coughing , sneezing. Also if a women is

rubella infected with rubella while being pregnant the


developing child is in serious harm, and they might be
infected with Rubella. It can also spread by direct
spread contact.

start?  This disease is often mild, with half of
people not realizing that they are infected. A
rash may start around two weeks after
exposure and last for three days. It usually
starts on the face and spreads to the rest of
the body.

be prevented
 Rubella can be prevented
using the MMR vaccine. This
vaccine protects from getting
measles, mumps and Rubella.
Doctors recommend to get the
first dose at 12-15 months of
age, and the second dose from
6-8 years old.

Side effects of getting injected
 The side effects of getting the vaccine getting injected are, Sore arm from injection swelling
from neck, fever, pain, headache and chills. More serious side effects include, difficulty in
breathing, fast heart beat, and a bad rash. These side effects happen very rarely to a human.

 There are many advantages of getting the vaccines witch include reducing the
risk of getting this disease. Also protect the people around us. “When enough
people vaccinated in a population it is highly unlikely for it to spread even
more. This is called community immunity.

Symptoms of Rubella

 Symptoms of rubella in young children might include fever, sore throat, and a
rash that begins on the face and spreads to the rest of the body. Prior to the
rash developing, older children and adults are more likely to experience a
headache, pink eye, and overall discomfort.

Conclusion

 Rubella is a very dangerous disease that is extremely contagious. To beat it


we have to take vaccines to protect ourselves and the people around us. That
would be the best way to protect ourselves.
