The Strange
Kettle.
General Objectives:

• i. To increase Students' knowledge of the


target language.
• ii. To improve Students’ pronunciation.
• iii. To enhance/increase students' vocabulary.
• iv. To improve Students ‘writing skills.
Specific Objectives:

• i. To improve students' Comprehension Skills.


• ii. To enable students to predict/ guess in the
target language.
• iii. To improve students' writing skills.
• iv. To enable students to learn imperative and
exclamatory sentences.
Teaching Aids:
• White board, Pointer, Duster, Charts, Textbook
and some reference books etc.
• Charts showing some examples of that time
and having some knowledge.
Teaching Methods:
• Lecture and Demonstration Method: The
teacher will explain different aspects of the
lesson by using teaching aids (text book and
reference books/charts etc) through Lecture
Method and Demonstration Method of teaching.
He will make sure use of all teaching aids well in
time and adopt e Question-Answer Technique in
order to maintain the participation and interests
of all the students in the lesson.
Preamble:

• The teacher will enter in the class saying


Assalamoalikum. He/She will check the sitting
arrangements of the students and the
discipline of the class and changes if required
in a very polite manner. He/She will start the
lesson with the name of Allah (With the name
of Allah who is the most beneficent and the
most merciful).
Previous Knowledge Assumed/Test:

• The teacher will ask some questions to check


students' ability to predict.
• Dear Students!
• Q. What do you think will happen in this story?
• Expected Ans: Something unexpected, something
strange, a surprise.
• Q. Do you think kettle will change the
woodcutter's life?
• Expected Ans: May be, or it will.
Announcement of the Lesson:

• On these expected answers the teacher will


encourage the students and will announce the
topic and tell the students that today they are
going to learn lesson "The Strange Kettle."
• The teacher will write the topic on the writing
board in Block Letters.
Presentation:

• Reading of the lesson by the teacher:


• The teacher will read the relevant passage as a model reader and write
important words with the meanings on the board i.e.
• Words: Proud, Stump, Brass, Axe, Wealthy, Quickly, Rich, Excitement.
• " Once afternoon, a woodcutter was..................to his cottage."
• " With this they thought that the kettle................... into the kettle!"
• The teacher will make the students to read the other passages aloud in the
class to complete the lesson. Moreover he/she will help students by
providing word meaning list on the board.
• The teacher will also help students to utter correct pronunciation of the
words, where needed.
• While reading the lesson content the teacher will explain imperative and
exclamatory sentences, found in the story.
• The teacher will make sure the correction of every mistake attentively.
Recapitulation:

• Now the teacher will conduct some activities.


He/She will distribute worksheet to check
students’ comprehension and Prediction skill.
Then the teacher will distribute another
worksheet to check students' understanding
for imperative and exclamatory sentences.
• Towards the end the teacher will distribute
worksheet to check students’ Vocabulary
Understanding.
Homework:

• The teacher will ask the learners to write about some strange
place, they might have visited or maybe they would like to visit
such place.
• The teacher will ask students to use the following questions to
write about the place.
• • Where was the place? Indoors? Out doors?
• • When did you go there?
• • Who was with you?
• • Who did you see there?
• • What did you feel?
• • What did you hear?
• • What did you do there?
