Criterion and Norm Referenced Evaluation

This document discusses criterion and norm-referenced evaluation in nursing education. It defines evaluation as determining the extent to which education objectives are realized. Evaluation techniques should be selected based on their purpose and use multiple methods for comprehensive assessment. Criterion-referenced evaluation measures student performance against fixed learning standards to determine if they have learned specific skills, like formulating nursing diagnoses. Driving tests are provided as an example of criterion-referenced evaluation.
