Turi Leaf Flour's Impact on Layer Chickens

The document summarizes research on adding turi leaf flour (Sesbania grandiflora) to layer chicken feed at different percentages (2%, 4%, 6%). Key findings from feeding the chickens for 4 weeks include: 1) Egg production and egg weight increased most in the 4% turi leaf flour treatment group compared to the control group. 2) Feed conversion ratio (FCR) improved most in the 2% and 4% turi leaf flour groups compared to the control, indicating more efficient feed utilization. 3) Income over feed cost (IOFC) value was highest at 660 Rp/chicken/day in the 4% turi leaf flour treatment group.

THE INFLUENCE OF ADDING TURI LEAF FLOUR

(SESBANIA GRANDIFLORA) IN THE FEED TO THE

PERFORMANCE OF LAYER CHICKEN

By:
AHMAD MUWAFIQ
Background
• The need for food
• The consumption egg increases
• Instead of protein concentrate
• Turi can be found easily in the researcher's regency
Problem Formulation
• Can the addition of Turi leaf flour as feed alternative
increase the performance of the layer chicken ?

• How to increase the performance of the layer chicken by

adding Turi leaf flour ?

• What are the benefits of the addition of Turi leaf flour to the layer
chicken ?
LITERATUR REVIEW
• Pasaribu, (2019), explained that many local plants contain
bioactives such as drugs, so their use must be appropriate. Its
use is limited by its antinutritional content, such as tannins and
saponins.
• Turi plants are part of the Fabaceae family which are widely
planted in yards apart from being ornamental plants,
vegetables, some people use them as medicinal plants
(Setiawan,. 2018)
The ingredients of Turi
Turi leaf flour has a high nutrient content, namely
 40,19 % crude protein
 7,89% crude fiber
 6,34% crude fat
 2360,53 kl/kg metabolic energy
 0,94% calcium
 0,32% hosphorus.
(Justina, 2018)Turi leaves contain chemical compounds ,namely
saponins and tanins.

CONCLUSION
This research shows that the addition of Turi leaf flour to the layer
chicken has some effects to the performance of layer chicken. The
addition of the Turi leaf flour increases the feed consumption, egg
production, egg weight, IOFC Value and decreases the feed
conversion ratio (FCR).
Thank you very much.
