Types of Angles in Triangles

This document is a maths project on triangles and the similarity theorem. It was created by Charit Santosh Rasmadguwar for their math teacher Namrata. The project discusses the different types of triangles such as acute, right, obtuse, isosceles, scalene and equilateral triangles. It also covers triangle congruence theorems like SSS, SAS, ASA and properties of triangles including angle sum, Pythagorean theorem and similarity theorem. The similarity theorem states that the ratio of the areas of two similar triangles is proportional to the squares of corresponding sides.

I would like to thanks my Mathematics Teacher Who gave me a chance to unlish
my talent and mathematical strength with the presentation. I would also like to
Thanks from my bottom of my heart
To school authority and staff members Who were so kind to help me. I would like to
thanks my most Supportive parents whi provided me each and every thing and
made me capable to do everything. Last but not least I would like to thank my
Beloved friends Who helped me in every situation..
Thank You all_____________________________
TRIANGLE AND ITS TYPES
•Let's start with the three types of triangles that are categorized by
the measure of their largest angle. These are the acute, right, and
obtuse triangles.
•Equilateral Triangle. In an equilateral triangle, all the lengths of
the sides are equal. In such a case, each of the interior angles will
have a measure ...
•Scalene, isosceles and equilateral triangle. In a scalene triangle,
all the sides of a triangle are of different length. In an isosceles
triangle, two ...
Theorems and Properties of triangle
Side-Side-Side (SSS) Congruence If three sides of one triangle are congruent to three sides of
another triangle, then the triangles are congruent.
Side-Angle-Side (SAS) Congruence If two sides and the included angle of one triangle
are congruent to the corresponding parts of another triangle, the triangles are congruent.
Angle-Side-Angle (ASA) Congruence If two angles and the included side of one triangle
are congruent to the corresponding parts of another triangle, the triangles are congruent.
◦ Angle-Angle-Side (AAS) Congruence If two angles and the non-included side of one
triangle are congruent to the corresponding parts of another triangle, the triangles are
congruent.
Types of Angles in Triangles
Corresponding Angles If two parallel lines are cut by a transversal, then the pairs of
corresponding angles are congruent.
Corresponding Angles Converse :If two lines are cut by a transversal and the corresponding angles
are congruent, the lines are parallel.
Alternate Interior Angles : If two parallel lines are cut by a transversal, then the alternate interior
angles are congruent.
Alternate Exterior Angle:If two parallel lines are cut by a transversal, then the alternate exterior
angles are congruent.
◦ Interiors on Same Side If two parallel lines are cut by a transversal, the interior angles on the
same side of the transversal are supplementary.
Properties Of Triangles
Reflexive Property:A quantity is congruent (equal) to itself. A = a
Symmetric Property: If a = b, then b = a.
Transitive Property: If a = b and b = c, then a = c.
Addition Postulate: If equal quantities are added to equal quantities, the sums are equal.
Subtraction Postulate: If equal quantities are subtracted from equal quantities, the differences are
equal.
Multiplication Postulate: If equal quantities are multiplied by equal quantities, the products are
equal. (also Doubles of equal quantities are equal.)
◦ Division Postulate: If equal quantities are divided by equal nonzero quantities, the quotients are
equal. (also Halves of equal quantities are equal.)
Important Extracts to be known!
A triangle cannot have a measurement or value of all the angles less than 60°.
A triangle is a 3-sided closed shape.
There are two important formulas related to triangles, i.e., Herons formula and Pythagoras theorem.
◦ The sum of the angles of a triangle adds up to 180° and given as ∠1 + ∠2 + ∠3 = 180°.
◦ Triangle has three sides, vertices, and angles.
◦ The angle sum property of a triangle states that the sum of the three interior angles of a triangle is
always 180°. Such as in any given triangle PQR, angle P + angle Q + angle R = 180°.
◦ Triangle inequality property states that the sum of the length of the two sides of a triangle is
greater than the third side.
◦ As per the Pythagorean theorem, in a right triangle, the square of the hypotenuse equals the sum of
the squares of the other two sides i.e., (Hypotenuse² = Base² + Altitude²).
Similarity theorem of Triangle.
◦ If Two triangles are similar, then the ratio of the area of both triangles is proportional to the square
of the ratio of their corresponding sides. This proves that the ratio of the area of two similar
triangles is proportional to the squares of the corresponding sides of both the triangles.
◦ Two triangles are said to be similar, if

◦ (i) their corg angles are equal and

◦ (ii)their corresponding sides are proportional.

◦ i.e Two triangles ABC and DEF are similar i
