This is not only for those who are about


to die. This is also for those who are
suffering from illness, about to undergo
a major operation or grave illnesses.
1.The gathered people of God, represented by a priest, the family, friends of
the sick or the drying offer the “prayer of faith” for the one to be anointed.
ANOINTING
OF THE 2.The priest lays his hands on the person, imitating Christ’s own gesture of
SICK healing and prays that the Holy spirit may come and bear God’s healing
grace.

3.The priest anoints the forehead and hands of the sick or drying with the
THREE Holy oil as he prays, “Through this holy anointing may the Lord, in His love
and mercy, help you with the grace of the Holy Spirit. May the Lord who
DISTINCT frees you from sin save and raise you up. Amen.”

ACTIONS:
This anointing signifies the encouragement and healing that comes from the
Holy Spirit.
