This document contains slides from a lecture on operational amplifiers and parallel resonance circuits. It includes examples of numerical problems dealing with single-phase AC circuits. The document then covers concepts of parallel resonance such as resonant frequency calculation, quality factor, bandwidth, and current magnification. It provides the step-by-step working of a sample problem to find the resonant frequency, quality factor, circuit current and magnification for a given parallel RLC circuit.

Parallel Resonance
Selectivity or Q-factor

For a parallel resonance circuit Q factor is generally defined as the

ratio of the circulating branch currents to the supply current and is
given as,

the Q-factor of a parallel resonance circuit is the inverse of the

expression for the Q-factor of the series circuit.
Also in series resonance circuits the Q-factor gives the voltage
magnification of the circuit, whereas in a parallel circuit it gives
the current magnification.
