What is a Student Council?
The student council at a school represents the student population.
The student council helps share student's ideas, interests, and concerns
with teachers and the Headteacher. They also help raise funds for
school-wide activities.

Chairperson
The Chairperson represents the
student council as a whole.
They are responsible for helping
coordinate the student council
activities and meetings.

Vice Chairperson
Similar to the Chairperson, the Vice Chairperson acts as a
representative of both students and the student council.
The Vice Chairperson steps in when the Chairperson is unavailable.

Secretary
The Secretary is responsible for keeping accurate notes of meetings.
They also keep track of who attends each meeting.

Treasurer
The treasurer helps
maintain the student
council budget and helps
manage fundraising events.
Why volunteer?

• You will develop important skills such as communication, leadership,
and problem-solving.
• This is a trusted and responsible role. You will have privileges that
other students do not.
• You will make important decisions that will benefit all students.

• Attend meetings after school
• Actively participate - share your own ideas and opinions
• Volunteer at whole school events
• Gather the views of other students
• Present at whole school assemblies, open evenings, Year 6 transition
events

1. Let you form tutor know that you are interested by the end of this
week.
2. Form tutors will pass your name to Mr Say.
3. Mr Say will arrange a time to meet with you to discuss next steps.
