Communication
Tools and Strategies
By Jesus Perry L. Caudilla
In today's world, the use of technology in communication is a
luxury no more; in fact, it has already turned into a necessity. It
has become difficult for us to connect and share information with
one another without technologies that continually change at a fast
pace. The emergence of new technologies has changed our
strategies of communication in the academic and business settings
among others. Thus, instead of rejecting these technologies, we
are driven to embrace them as they impact incredibly on various
aspects of our communication.
Along with the advancement in technology are the
changes in communication tools and strategies.
Among them are
1. Through the Internet, voluminous information and
resources are accessed anytime and anywhere.
2. People in various fields are now engaged in co-
construction of knowledge.
3. Exchange of information has become instant on
available and easy-to-use social platforms, online forums
and web pages.
4. Collaborative interaction is carried out fast and easy through
mobile technology and application software.
5. Language barriers are reduced through translation of text and
voice conversations in real-time in a number of languages.
6. Finally, production and processing of multimodal texts for a
variety of purposes and settings are facilitated by a number of
high performing gadgets.
Furthermore, communication becomes most effective
when we understand not only the benefits but as well as
some potential downsides the use of technology brings
about such as distraction, misunderstanding, and less
personal interaction.
Communication Technology In
Education
The use of technology in education is a major challenge
for teachers and students in the 21st century. In the past,
education was focused on textbooks and teacher-to-
learner transmission, but now there is a shift towards
technology-driven design. The Covid-19 crisis has also
highlighted the importance of internet-based education.
Here is a rundown of some technology that
are used to facilitate learning and teaching.
Cloud computing

classrooms, allowing students, teachers, and
administrators to work on the same platform.
Mobile learning
also known as mLearning, allows students to study
online or through a network while using personal
devices.
CMOOCs, or Massive Open Online Courses
are free web-based distance learning programs that
offer unlimited participation and academic credits.
.
Games And Gamification

digital and online games into the curriculum for
effective real-world experiences
