Discuss the following:
A) Meaning of History
B) Relevance of History
The direct meaning of history is the
record and the study of past
phenomenons or events. History
provides us with the chronicles of
our ancestors and the world before
A)Meaning of us. There are 6 types of history:
Political history, Diplomatic history,
History
Cultural history, Social history,
Economic history and Intellectual
history. The people who provide us
history are called Historians, they
collect and gather information from
primary sources like memoirs,
artifacts, old recordings etc..
History has been a major part
in our lives, humans are also
naturally obsessed with
reminiscing the past. However,
the importance of history lies
B) Relevance of with the fact that we cannot
survive without knowing our
History history, the success and failure
of the past is our strength to
succeed in development. It
helps us improve our
civilization and leave a legacy
for the future generations.
Identify the importance of history to the
following:
A) Society
B) Student
As I've mentioned earlier it is the
foundation for our civilization and
what makes a civilization? It is
society. History is a crucial part of
A)Society this because we have a diverse
culture, tradition, religion and other
more. In history we can understand
those and have peaceful social
interactions.
It is simple, there will be no student
if there's no history because what
will we study if there's none to
teach. We the students learn from
the knowledge of people in the
past, what they have researched,
what they've discovered, what
A)Student philosophy they have. As a
psychology student, I believe that
we depend even more on history.
The findings of our predecessor
helps us to easily determine the
diagnosis and prognosis of a
patient or understand a broader
societal/industrial case.
Why do they
consider history
as a study of the
present in the
light of the past?
Explain.
History has always been tied to the present.
According to Johann N. Neem, a historian of the
American Revolution and the early American
republic, "By studying people and places far
removed from our current lives, we become aware of
other ways to be human". In this way we can
understand that history is about the change that
impacts our present, that the light of the past is the
way to grasp and discern the present.
Example of a
significant
contribution of
history. Give only
one.
There's so many, like the Romans, the law from
ancient Rome has paved the way for our civil law,
administration and the general management of a
nation. It is the starting point of the majority of legal
systems in the Western and Eastern civilization. It is
also part of the Philippines legal system together
with the Anglo-American system and Islamic law.
