because it affects elderly people because of their age and

• Elderly patients are at risk of fatal falls.
• Every year, over 684,000 individuals experience falls
(Appeadu & Bordoni, 2021).
• Combatting patient falls requires the integration of
technology, policies and inter-professional collaborations.
Patient fall prevention discussion

• The discussion with G involved the use of bedside alarms in


the facility.
• The ability to effectively collaborate with nurses on the use of
effective patient safety rounds can help to reduce the
occurrence of these events.
• Education of healthcare providers to identify high-risk
patients can help to strategize effective intervention for this
group and ensure that they are at reduced risk of falls.
