Main Concept
Part of a development over the railways in the
Paris-Rive Gauche district, this project is a
sustainable and innovative hospitality building
aiming to become a landmark for the
neighborhood as well as a ‘green lung’ for the
neighborhood
In the context of repetitive volumes along the
avenue, the design strategy was to create a
sculptural shape as formed by natural erosion
that will let the sky come down to the street.
The work on the volume is defined by the
modularity of the wooden structure. The warm
materiality of the wood is combined with metal
panels whose finish provides a soft reflection.

The Courtyard
• there is a massive enclosed
courtyard where primarily keeps
most existing trees
• it protects the area from outer
chaos.
• This court is inspired by the
concept of “engawa”,which
means a terrace connecting
people and nature together.

great existing tamarind tree

One of the most notable design
elements of the project is the
ceiling design for the lobby which
is inspired by falling snow and
features 3,000 triangular pieces
of wood hanging from the ceiling
