Introduction
Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a chronic metabolic disorder affecting over 460 million people
worldwide, with numbers projected to rise to 700 million by 2045.
Managing blood glucose levels is crucial for preventing complications and improving quality of
life for individuals with diabetes.
Traditional oral medications and supplements often have limitations, such as:
1. Poor adherence due to unpleasant taste, smell, or texture.
2. Gastrointestinal side effects.
3. Inconvenient dosing schedules.
Recently, gummies have gained popularity as a palatable and convenient delivery system for
various nutrients and supplements.
Developing gummies specifically designed for Diabetes Mellitus management presents an
innovative solution to address these challenges.
Introduction
Gummies for diabetes mellitus provide a convenient, palatable option for managing blood sugar,
potentially increasing patient adherence compared to conventional treatments like tablets or
injections.
These gummies are specially formulated to be sugar-free and low in carbohydrates, with active
ingredients like insulin mimetics and glucose-lowering agents. Clinical trials are essential to ensure
their safety and effectiveness in blood sugar management.
Field survey
For a field survey on developing gummies for diabetes mellitus, the focus should be on understanding
patient preferences, nutritional needs, and potential barriers to adoption. First, gauge diabetic patients'
interest in using gummies as an alternative to conventional medications like pills or injections, including
preferences for flavors, textures, and any efficacy concerns. Additionally, assess the ingredients patients

i) Collection of andrographis paniculata (siriyanangai) leaves.
ii) Drying the leaves in the room temperature.
iii) Grinding leaves into a fine powder and Agar Andrographis and Steve
leaves is also grinded into fine powder.
iv) In 100ml of water add 2grams of siriyanangai powder and 10 grams of
agar Andrographis and mix it thoroughly in High temperature.
v) Pour the Liquid into the mold and allow it to solidify.
vi) Store it in cold environment

Conduct literature review on bio ethanol extraction and hand sanitizer
formulation.

Collecting neem leaves and drying them.
Prepare neem leaves by washing and tearing them into small fragments.

Perform enzymatic hydrolysis to convert cellulose to sugars
OCTOBER2024 Inoculate the hydrolyzed mixture with yeast for fermentation.
Distill the fermented mixture to extract and purify bioethanol.
Develop hand sanitizer formulation.
NOVEMBER-2024 Test stability and pH of the sanitizer formulation.
Conduct antimicrobial efficacy testing.
Result and Discussion
The product was successfully distributed among the people in the Krishnankovil.
They were extremely happy with this sanitizer and they are using it daily on the
day-to-day life.
Conclusion and Future work
• We conclude that the sanitizer placed a major impact on the people in
Krishnankovil they are using it on their daily basis. Its working very effectively .
• Further, we would like to implement our sanitizer formulation into a larger scale
production under the marketing name called “GREEN GERM GUARD” making it
available for majority of people who are in rural areas.
