Introduction
Modern business language is simple, easy to
understand,
friendly and courteous.
Progressive companies believe in cultivating
personal
relations with their customer through friendly style of
communication. They do not use old fashion
business
jargons, but communicate in a friendly, fresh style
which is
often personal and informed.
The 7 C’s of communication is a checklist that helps
to
improve the professional communication skills and

The message should be clear and easily
understandable to the recipient .
The purpose of the communication should be clear
to
sender then only the receiver will be sure about it.

message should emphasize on a single goal at a
time
and shall not cover several ideas in a single
sentence.
Clarity in communication has following features –
a) It make understanding easier.
b) Clear message makes use of exact, appropriate

The message should be correct, i.e., a correct
language should be used, and sender must ensure that
there is no grammatical and spelling mistakes. Also, the
message should be exact and well-timed. The correct
message have a greater impact on the receiver and at
the same time, the morale of the sender increases with
the accurate message. The correct communication has
following features
a)If communication is correct, it boost up the
confidence level.
b)It makes use of appropriate and correct language in
the message.
Completenes
The message should be complete, i.e. it must

include all the relevant information as required by
the intended audience. The complete information
gives answers to all the questions of the receivers
and help in better decision making by the recipien

a) Complete communication develops and
enhances reputation of an organization.
b) A complete communication always gives
additional information whatever required. It
leaves no questions in the mind of reciever.
Concreteness
The communication should be concrete which
means the message should be clear and
particularly such that no room for
misinterpretation is left. All the fact and figure
should be clearly mentioned in a message so
as to substantiate to whatever the sender is
saying .
Concrete message has following features –
a) It is supported with specific fact and
figures.
b) Concrete message are not misinterpreted.
CONCISENES

Conciseness means wordiness, i.e,
communicating what you want to convey in
least possible words without forgoing the
other C’s of communication. Conciseness is a
necessity for effective communication.
Concise communication has following
features:
a) It is both time-saving as well as costsaving.
b) Concise message is non-repetitive in
nature.
Consideration
It is an act of consideration. While sending
a
message the sender should look from the
angle of
the audience. The sender should
understand the
feelings and emotions of the receivers. It
shows
that in communication we should consider
the
audience.
Considerate communication has following
features
a)Show optimism toward your audience.
b)Emphasize on ‘what is possible’ rather
then
Courteous
Courtesy means polite behaviour. While
communicating everybody should show politeness
towards others. It facilitates communication. The
polite messages help to strengthen relationships
and
to create goodwill, which helps in expanding the
business.
The courteous communication has following
features

a)Courteous message is positive and focused at


the
audience.
b)It makes use of term showing respect for the
reciever.
