Computer software
refers to the program that
is used to make the
computer useful. It is
consist of programs,
commands or instructions
that are used to make the
computer parts
1. System software
is the software that
comes as a tool, which
helps make the
computer hardware
and the computer
system work properly.
2 types of system software
a. Operating system – is a set of
programs that coordinates all the
activities among computer hardware
devices.
b. Utility software - is a kind of system
software designed to help analze,
organize, and maintain the computer. It
allows the user to perform maintenance-
type task usually related to managing a
computer, its devices, or its programs.
2. Application
software- refers to
the program created
to accomplish specific
tasks for the user with
the purpose of
supporting or
a.word processing
software – allow users to
create and edit a
document.
b. spreadsheet
software- allow users to
create document and
perform calculation
c. database software – allow
users to store and retrieve
vast amount of data.
d. presentation graphic
software – allow users to
create visual presentation.
e. multimedia software –
allow users to create image,
audio, video and etc.
