Exposure Control, AOP (Automatic Optimization of Parameters)
Correct exposure for the densest region in the
breast for all breasts
You need the right exposure parameters (anode, filter, kV, mAs)…
•every
The time
system automatically scans
the whole breast and identifies the
location where it is the densest.
• Thickness + Density + Composites

Senographe Exposure Control
AOP (Automatic Optimization of Parameters)
What if:
•Your exposure was automatically correct for the
densest region in the breast for all breasts?

•Your exposure was extremely consistent all the time

for all breast compositions

•Your exposure achieved optimized image quality at

minimized dose to the patient?

Ergonomics
• Intuitive user interface
• Customization of speed and compression
• Small tube head
• Compact footprint
• Wheelchair access
• Patient comfort

• Isocentric motorized gantry with two speeds

allows instantaneous fine and fast positioning

• Automatic CC and MLO positioning

• Mirror angle for MLO

• One second activation

• Automatic light switch on

• Ergonomic control console and optional control

exposure hand-switch…to reduce repetitive strains
• Immediate access to patient worklist
(with RIS connection) and easy selection
of patient details
• Quick and automatic image display
(<15 sec.) allows better positioning
control and quality assurance decisions
• Capability to push images from imaging
workstation to review workstation, printer
or CAD automatically at the completion
of the study
• Narrow tube head and face shield for more comfortable head and neck positions
• Ergonomic handles, secondary handles, and covers minimize the patient’s muscle contraction

• Ergonomic paddle design and a rounded

bucky shape – to optimize patient comfort

• Compression slows when contacting the breast

• • Maximum desired compression can be pre-set

by the operator

• • Automatic compression release is synchronized

with exposure completion

“The Difference”
Sensitivity and specificity of mammography
are limited by several factors
1 2

 Dense breast tissue can overlap with

lesions
 3 4
Lesions are not always visible with x-
ray
 Interpretation of images can vary
among radiologists

Kolb et al. Radiology 2002; 225:165-175.

Cancers cells create small new
blood vessels. This process is
called Angiogenesis

Iodine injection – Contrast agent will

tend to leak from these new vessels
into cancerous tissues

SenoBright uses multiple x-ray exposures

to reduce background signal, similar to how
cameras reduce red-eye by using a series of
flashes.
By suppression of the signal from the normal
tissue, SenoBright effectively highlights the
iodine absorption in the tissues affected by
angiogenesis
