AI

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a branch of computer science focused on enabling machines to make decisions akin to human intelligence, utilizing machine learning and deep learning. In education, AI offers personalized learning, automates administrative tasks, enhances accessibility, and provides data-driven insights, but also raises concerns regarding privacy, bias, over-reliance on technology, and potential inequalities in access. The rapid advancement of AI in education necessitates careful consideration of its risks and the need for appropriate policy frameworks.

ARTIFICIAL

INTELLIGENCE
BY: AARYA PATEL
WHAT IS AI?
• AI is the field of computer science
that aims to make computers and
machines capable of making
decisions and predictions that
usually require human intelligence.
• AI models are a combination
of Machine learning and Deep
learning and are trained on large
data sets to enable them to make
intelligent decisions.
AI IN EDUCATION
• Artificial Intelligence (AI) has the
potential to address some of the biggest
challenges in education today, innovate
teaching and learning practices, and
accelerate progress towards SDG 4
(Sustainable Development Goal 4).
• However, rapid technological
developments inevitably bring multiple
risks and challenges, which have so far
outpaced policy debates and regulatory
frameworks.
POTENTIALS OF AI IN EDUCATION

1. AI enables personalized learning by adapting educational content to

individual students' needs and pace.
2. AI automates routine administrative tasks, giving teachers more time for
interactive and creative teaching.
3. AI enhances accessibility in education by providing assistive technologies
like speech-to-text and text-to-speech for students with disabilities.
4. AI-powered intelligent tutoring systems offer on-demand support, helping
students in challenging subjects outside the classroom.
5. AI analyzes data to reveal trends and insights, enabling educators to make
informed decisions and interventions based on student behavior and
learning patterns.
CONCERNS OF AI IN EDUCATION
1. The use of AI in education raises privacy and data security concerns
due to the collection of large amounts of sensitive student information,
which risks misuse or compromise.
2. AI systems may inherit biases from training data, resulting in unfair
treatment of certain student groups and potentially reinforcing existing
inequalities.
3. Over-reliance on AI in education may diminish the role of teachers and
the essential human element needed for fostering critical thinking,
empathy, and social skills.
4. The benefits of AI in education may exacerbate inequalities by being
less accessible to students in regions with limited technology or
internet access.
