*BASIC GUIDANCE
SERVICES
I. Individual Inventory Service – This service involves the
acquisition, maintenance and safeguarding of individual
records of students.

II. This service encompasses all information which are
made available through bulletins, announcements,
brochures, electronic media, orientation activities and
trainings.
*This service is concerned with providing individual and
group counseling to students who voluntarily visit the
Guidance Center to seek assistance, to “referrals”
given by administrators , family members, parents and
faculty members who are in need of assistance that
could affect the student’s educational, emotional,
spiritual and social well-being.
*III. Counseling
Service
*This service includes the administration and
interpretation of tests to assess the
performance and personality of the students.
Students who may wish to avail the testing
service may make arrangements with the
guidance counselor.
*IV. Testing
Service
*The activities in this service include the
establishment of job placement linkages with the
different firms, agencies and others, providing
maximum information on employment opportunities
not only to graduating students but also to the non-
graduating.
*V. Placement
Service
* Referral is the action taken by any
person within the institution who see that
a particular individual needs counselor
assistance. In a school setting, teachers,
administrators, parents and other
students may refer a specific student
who needs guidance services. It is also
the practice of helping clients secure the
needed expert assistance that the
counselor cannot provide (Gibson and
Mitchell, 2008).
*REFERRAL SERVICES
*It is concerned with what happens to the
students while in school and keeps track of
them in finding out how students fair in their
chosen activity.
*FOLLOW – UP
SERVICE
*It is a service where
counselors and school
administrators/faculty
students/parents help each
together to reach the desired
goal most especially towards
holistic development of the
students.

*This service evaluates regularly the
existing guidance services and determines
the needs, concerns of students.
