The relation between Dosha and Dushya
• Vata dosha resides in asthi.Pitta can be found in rakta
dhatu and sweda.Kapha dosha is present in the
remaining dhatus like rasa ,mamsa,meda,majja,sukra
and pureesha,mutra
• These mutual interdependence is the main cause of
vriddhi and kshaya
• Eg: Pitta vridhhi can cause rakta vriddhi, seda vriddhi
etc and pitta kshaya cause rakta kshaya
• Kapha vridhhi can cause sukra ,mamsa, meda etc
vridhi and kshaya can leads to kshaya of these dhatus
• But in case of vata its is just the opposite
• Vata vriddhi does not cuse asthi
vriddhi,instead it cause asthi kshaya
• Vata kshaya causes asthi vridhhi
Clinical application of ashraya ashrayi bhava

• Kapha and pitta dosha having snigdha guna

• Hence kapha and pitta vriddhi should be treated by
langhana procedures
• Kapha and pitta kshaya brimhana(nourishing)
procedures
• But this is opposite in case of vata
• Since vata is having ruksha guna,Vata vriddhi should
be treated with brimhana procedures
• And vata kshaya should be managed with langhana
procedures
