cans of different sizes, string,
ruler

Steps:
1. Wrap the string around the can to
measure the circumference of its base.
Note that the base of the can is a circle.
2. Measure the diameter of the can’s base
using a ruler.

4. Repeat steps 1-3 using the other cans.
