Algorithm changes-New SINR to MCS mapping tables FDD UL (ABIO/ABIN)
Impacted area - UL Link Adaptation (FDD)

• Background: With the feature CB007145 new SINR-to-MCS mapping tables are defined for
ABIO/ABIN. The mapping tables are valid not only for the 40 MHz cell bandwidth but for all
supported cell bandwidths.
• Reason for the Change: An improved simulation model of ABIO/ABIN is implemented in
simulator, which provides more precise mapping values. The new mapping values differ to the
legacy values up to ~2 dB for smaller MCSes.

• Change Description: With the new mapping tables the threshold of the MCS selection
moves to higher SINR values for the already established cell bandwidths.

• Expected Impact on end user: yes

Potential increase in the BLER and in average user data throughput in UL
