• Optimal outcome of CPR outside hospital would depend on certain
focused links that need to be followed during CPR
• There are four essential core links in BCLS

Provide 1 breath every 5 seconds
End Point: Visible chest rise; normal tidal volume breath.
Position:
Victim: Supine
Rescuer: On head end
C: Compress the mask with thumb & index finger forming letter ‘C’
E: Elevate the jaw (bony part) with remaining 3 finger forming letter ‘E’
Apex of mask: At the bridge of nose
Base of Mask: Groove over chin
Resume CPR
If victim starts to Breathe normally
place in Recovery position
