SIWES BACKGROUND
 Student Industrial Work Experience Scheme or SIWES is the program of industrial training for
Nigerian universities. At the early stage of the development of education in Nigeria, there was a
problem of the gap between theory and practical skills of students. Therefore, there was a need to give
students the opportunity to get real work experience.

 SIWES is the accepted skills training programme which forms part of the approved minimum academic
standards in the various degree programmes for all the Nigerian universities.
ORGANIZATION PROFILE
DESCRIPTION OF THE COMPANY
GoMyCode Academy is a leading online and in-person tech education platform that offers a range of
coding and IT courses, with a strong focus on cybersecurity. The academy provides hands-on training in
essential cybersecurity skills, covering topics such as network security, ethical hacking, penetration testing,
and risk management. GoMyCode's cybersecurity programs are designed to equip students with the
knowledge and practical experience needed to protect organizations from digital threats and vulnerabilities.
With a modern curriculum and expert instructors, the academy prepares individuals for careers in
cybersecurity, ensuring they are well-versed in the latest security technologies and best practices

Our goal is to create an environment that nurtures learning, provides opportunities for practice, and enables
you to turn your dreams into reality.
Since starting out in a coworking space, we have come a long way. We were honored to win the
BlooMMasters program at MIT in 2017. And over the past six years, we have successfully trained over
30,000 students and established partnerships with more than 100 organizations across eight countries.

RELEVANCE OF PLACE OF ATTACHMENT TO
MY COURSE OF STUDY
My internship at GoMyCode Academy was highly relevant to my Computer Science studies,
as it provided practical experience in areas such as system administration, networking, and
cybersecurity. I gained hands-on experience managing computer systems, troubleshooting
issues, and optimizing network performance, which directly applies to concepts learned in
my coursework. The exposure to network security and ethical hacking complemented my
understanding of computer science's security focus. Additionally, working with tools like
Citrix Workspace, Active Directory, and Kali Linux enhanced my technical skills. I also
developed a deeper understanding of cloud computing and its role in modern IT
infrastructure. Overall, the internship bridged the gap between theoretical knowledge and
real-world applications. It strengthened my problem-solving abilities and practical
understanding of key computer science principles.

CONCLUSION
My Six months intensive Training at GOMYCODE ACADEMY was a complete success. It
was eye opening; experience filled; an acquisition of new skills needed to me becoming a
successful computer scientist. The Intensive training exposed me to how an organization is
structured and run for successful outcome and result. Also, the technical duties I performed also
exposed me on how to offer solutions in the world of technology. I learnt how to be a team
player, be accountable and communicate effectively with colleagues to successfully carry and
complete various tasks. Finally, The Intensive Training also made me appreciate my course as I
saw practical work being done as it prepares me for the future this career path holds.
