A corporation is a legal entity created by law with
specific rights andNattributes. It exists
independently of its owners and has the right of
succession. U.S. Chief Justice John Marshall
described it in 1819 as an "artificial being,
invisible, intangible, and existing only in
contemplation of the law.“

Stock are shares/certificate of ownership of a


corporation. The owners of stocks are called
stockholders/shareholders.
