Sample Space is the set of all outcomes


in an experiment.
What is simple event?

Simple event is an event where all possible


outcomes are equally likely to accur. It can only
happen in one way--in other words, it has a single
outcome.

Formula:
EXAMPLE 1:

A picker wheel has 4 equal sectors colored blue,


green pink, and yellow. After spinning the picker
wheel, what is the probability of landing on each
color?
Solution:
S = {blue, green, pink, yellow}
EXAMPLE 2:

Mia’s box contains 3 blue balls, 6 green balls, and 9


red balls. If a ball is picked at random from the box,
what is the probability that a ball picked is (a) green
ball and
(b) blue
