Formatting
• A guide to essential MS Word skills
Creating and Saving a
File
• - Open MS Word
• - File > New to create a new document
• - File > Save As to save
• - Choose location, name, click Save

• Shortcut: Ctrl + S (Save)


Editing and Saving a
Document
• - Type or modify text
• - Use Backspace/Delete to edit
• - Use Ctrl + S to save changes

• Shortcut: Ctrl + S (Save)


Paragraph Formatting
• - Align text (Left, Center, Right, Justify)
• - Adjust line spacing and indent
• - Use Paragraph settings in Home tab

• Shortcut: Ctrl + E (Center), Ctrl + L (Left), Ctrl + R

Document Font and Size
• - Select text to change font
• - Home > Font section for style, size, bold, italic,
underline
