STRATEGIC PLANNING
Strategic planning is a process
used by organizations to identify their
goals, the strategies necessary to
accomplish those goals and the internal
performance management system that
will be used to monitor and evaluate
progress.
STRATEGIC PLANNING
Strategic planning is the process of finding the
best means of attaining organizational goal. It defines
what the organization is all about and what it wants to
achieve in clear and certain terms. It defines the chosen
market, customer, clientele, or beneficiaries an
organization wants to serve. It specifies the results the
organization hopes to produce and how it will produce
those results. It is not about day-to-day moves, neither an
annual budgeting exercise.
-Dr. Eduardo A. Morato Jr.
WHY IS THERE A NEED FOR
STRATEGY?
Ensures that day-to-day decisions fit in
with the long term intent of the
organization
Encourages everyone to work together
Focuses on delivering part of the future
Defines services that are to be
delivered to specific stakeholders

but customized according to the needs and purposes of DepEd.
It presents a holistic planning approach that emphasizes the
importance of aligning and adopting a logical methodology
from the Execom down to the school staff and vice versa.
Crafted because according to the conducted assessment, most
plans although compliant with the DBM requirements mainly
focused on annual operations concern. The plan needed to be
more strategic because the activities are not well- aligned to
the vision, mission, and values of DepEd.
