1. The electric current in a circuit is given by
i = i0(t / T) for some time. Calculate the rms
current for the period t = 0 to t = T
2. The instantaneous value of an alternating
voltage in volts is given by the expression \

s (i) peak value of the voltage. (ii) its rms value
and (iii) frequency of the supply?
3. . A resistance of 40ohm is connected to an a.c.
source of 220 V, 50 Hz. Find (i) the rms current (ii)
the maxi-mum instantaneous current in the
resistor and (iii) the time taken by the current to
change from its maximum value to the rms value.

(iv) What is the current of the circuit ?
(v) What is the phase angle of the current by
which it leads or lags the applied emf?

circuit. The rms potential difference across the

of the circuit is unity, (b) the Q-factor of this
circuit. (c) Given the angular frequency of the a.c.
