CLASS 9th C

The document discusses the concept of congruency in triangles, explaining that congruent triangles have equal sides and angles, while similar triangles have the same shape but different sizes. It outlines five key rules for establishing triangle congruency: Side-Side-Side (SSS), Side-Angle-Side (SAS), Angle-Angle-Side (AAS), Angle-Side-Angle (ASA), and Right Angle-Hypotenuse-Side (RHS). The document also acknowledges the leadership of four group leaders who guided their teams in this presentation.

INTRODUCTION
 A triangle is a three-sided polygon with
three angles and three sides. In geometry,
congruency means two figures have the
exact same shape and size. So, congruent
triangles have equal sides and equal
angles. On the other hand, similar triangles
have the same shape but not necessarily
the same size—their corresponding angles
are equal, but sides are in proportion.
Understanding congruency and similarity
helps us solve problems in geometry,
construction, and real-life applications
involving shapes and measurements.
SIDE-SIDE-SIDE CONGRUENCY

The SSS Rule states that if all

three sides of one triangle are
equal to all three sides of
another triangle, then the
triangles are congruent. This
means they have the same shape
and size, even if their orientation
or position is different. The
angles of the triangles will also
SIDE-ANGLE-SIDE
CONGRUENCY
 The SAS Rule states that if two sides
and the included angle (the angle
between the two sides) of one triangle
are equal to two sides and the included
angle of another triangle, then the
triangles are congruent. This means
they have the same shape and size. It's
important that the angle is between
the two given sides, not outside them.
This rule helps us prove triangle
equality using limited but sufficient
information.
ANGLE-ANGLE-SIDE
CONGRUENCY
 The AAS Rule states that if two angles
and the non-included side of one
triangle are equal to two angles and
the corresponding non-included side of
another triangle, then the triangles are
congruent. The side must not be
between the two angles. Even though
the side isn’t included, the known
angles and side provide enough
information to ensure both triangles
are exactly the same in shape and size.
ANGLE-SIDE-ANGLE
CONGRUENCY
 The ASA Rule states that if two
angles and the included side (the
side between the two angles) of one
triangle are equal to two angles and
the included side of another triangle,
then the triangles are congruent. This
means the triangles are identical in
shape and size. The included side
plays a key role in fixing the shape of
the triangle, making ASA a valid rule
for proving congruence.
RIGHT ANGLE-HYPOTENUSE-
SIDE CONGRUENCY
 The RHS Rule applies only to
right-angled triangles. It states
that if the hypotenuse and one
side of one right-angled triangle
are equal to the hypotenuse and
one side of another right-angled
triangle, then the triangles are
congruent. Since the right angle
is common, only the hypotenuse
and one side need to match for
