1. Introduction
Netex learningMaker is an authoring tool which allows enterprises to easily create and edit their own e-learning
contents and to publish them in different formats in order to use them in any CMS, LMS or website.
Contents created with learningMaker are compatible with multiple devices and they can be published in different
formats (Web, SCORM, AICC, APK, etc.). The use of HTML5 technology and “Responsive Design” techniques allows the
full adaptation to the device where the content is being viewed.
With learningMaker you will be able to create your own “Projects” in a collaborative and de-localised manner, so that
several users can participate in their creation.
Each project will use a template which will establish the behaviour of the content. The tool includes the following
templates:
 Express
 Multi-page
 Video
 Basic
There are three types of learningMaker users:
 Administrators will be in charge of the administration of the tool (users, permissions, etc.).
 Authors are the ones in charge of the creation and the authorship of the contents.
 Reviewers, who can be as many as you want (they are not taken into account in your subscription), will be in
charge of reviewing all the projects you assign them. They can communicate with the authors through the
comments system (see section 4.8.3.).

2. Start using learningMaker
2.1 Signing in and logging out
1. Enter your username and your password and click on “Sign in”.
2. If you check “Keep me signed”, the system will remember your access data. This way, you will not have to
enter it each time you sign in, unless you do it from a different computer or browser.
3. If you do not remember your password, you can retrieve it by clicking on the link “Can’t access your
account?”. You will have to enter your e-mail address and you will receive an e-mail with the instructions to
configure a new password.
Remember
Do not use the option to remember your password in a computer which is often used by other users to avoid improper
access with your codes.
To sign out the platform, click on the button “Sign out” on the dropdown menu of your profile.

2.2 Editing my profile
1. Choose the option “My profile” on the upper right corner dropdown menu, below your username.
2. Click on “Edit” to modify your profile data.
3. You can change your username, name and last name, and the e-mail associated to your user account.
4. Click on “Change image” to change your profile picture. This image will appear associated to your username
on the tool. For example, when you write comments on a project.
5. Click on “Save changes”.
2.3 Changing my password
1. Choose the option “My profile” on the upper right corner dropdown menu, located below your username.
2. Click on “Change password”.
3. Enter your current password and the new password, and click on “Save changes”.

3. Browsing projects and folders
3.1 Browsing folders
1. Click on the name of a folder to see its content.
2. If you want to exit the folder, you can move with the breadcrumb located above the list, by clicking on the top
level folder you want to access. Click on “Home” to go back to the list of projects.
3.2 Projects and folders searcher
There is a searcher above the list of projects which allows you to localise the projects by their name.
The advanced search will allow you to enclose the search by other criteria such as the language/s in which the project
has been created or its status. This search also allows you to order the results in ascending (“ID ASC”) or descending
order (“ID DESC”).
3.3 Creating a folder
1. Click on “New folder”.
2. Write the name of the folder and click on “Add”.

If you want to add projects to this folder, you have to create them inside it (see section 3.8), or copy/move them from
other place (see section 3.10).
3.4 Renaming a folder
1. Slide the mouse over the options column on the right-hand side of the project to show the “Options” menu.
2. Choose the “Rename” option on the dropdown menu.
3. Modify the name of the folder and click on “Accept”.
3.5 Deleting a folder
2. Choose the “Remove” option on the dropdown menu.
3. Click on “Ok”.
Remember
You will not be able to delete a folder if it contains locked projects. If you want to do so, you have to contact the user
who has them locked or the administrator of the system so he or she can unlock them.
When deleting a folder you delete all the projects within it from the system and you will not be able to retrieve
them.
3.6 Moving a folder
You can move a folder in order to include it in other folder or vice versa.

2. Choose the “Cut” option on the dropdown menu. The folder will be copied on the “Clipboard”.
3. Go to the folder where you want to move this folder to and click on “Paste”.
When you copy or cut something, it remains on the clipboard until you delete it from there.
3.7 Publishing a folder
2. Choose the “Publish” option on the dropdown menu and click on “Ok”. All the projects included in the folder
will be published.
To access the list of publications of a folder:
2. Choose the “Show publications” option on the dropdown menu.
3. If you want to delete a publication, select it and click on the “Delete selected” button.
4. If you want to download it, click on the “Download” link on the “Options” column or on “PENS” if you want to
publish it on a platform compatible with PENS.

3.8 Creating a project
1. Click on “New project”.
2. Complete the creation form:
 The template you use will be the preset design of the content with the background, place of the texts,
images, etc. You will see the characteristics of a template below it when you select it.
 Choose the language of the project. However, if you want to create a project in several languages, you
will be able to include a new language later (see section 4.11).
3. Click on “Add” to create the project or “Add and continue” to create more projects.
3.9 Renaming a project
2. Choose the “Rename” option on the dropdown menu.
3. Modify the name of the project and click on “Accept”.
3.10 Copying/moving projects
You can copy/move a project to a folder, or extract it from a folder to the general list of projects.
The difference is that when you copy the project you keep the original in its own location, but when you move it you
change its location.

1. Slide the mouse over the options column on the right-hand side of the project.
2. Open the “Options” dropdown menu and choose “Copy” or “Cut”, depending if you want to keep the original
or not. The project will be copied in the “Clipboard”.
3. Go to the place where you want to move/copy the project to and click on “Paste” from the Clipboard.
When you copy or cut something it remains in the clipboard until you delete it from there.
3.11 Deleting a project
1. Slide the mouse over the options column on the right-hand side of the project.
2. Open the “Options” dropdown menu and choose “Remove”.
3. This option deletes the project permanently so you will not be able to retrieve it.

4. Working on a project
4.1. Details of a project
The details of a project include:
 Top menu: this menu allows you to perform certain actions on the project.
o If you have permission for visualization: exporting, opening and previewing it.
o If you have permission for edition: locking/unlocking a project and undoing the last modifications you
have done.
o If you have permission for publication you will also be able to do it from this screen.
 Project data: you will see information concerning the design and parameters of this project (code of the
project, template used, languages in which the project is set, number of resources added to the project and
the score values set in the project). Click on “Edit” to modify these values.
 Status, creation and modification data: this includes information about the status of the project, the creation
date, the author/s and the last modification. Click on “Change status” to modify it (see section 4.8.2.).
Below this data, you will see its structure. The structure is the hierarchy tree of the pages created in the project. You
will see the language/s in which the project has been created, above its pages. You can create this project in more
languages (see section 4.11.). Click on the name of a page to access its content.
Remember
Edit the details of the project to establish the score parameters of this project. You can set the maximum score the
student will be able to get and the score that the student has to get to be able to pass a project. In addition, you can
include the success and failure statuses the student will see when performing the content. These values and statuses
will be shown on the platform in which you set the content as long as the platform is prepared to do so.

4.2. Properties of a project
The configuration of these properties is optional. This data will be shown by default associated to the content when
uploading this content to a platform.
1. Click on the name of the project.
2. Select “Properties” on the left side menu.
3. Click on “Edit”.
4. Modify the fields and click on “Save”.
4.3. Pages of a project
You will see the page of the project in which you are, on the upper-left corner. Use the dropdown menu to navigate
through the pages of the project, to create new pages or to delete them. Each time you display a page, it remains
opened in a tab on the top of the page. You can move between the pages by selecting the tab you want to edit. These
tabs will remain opened until you close them by clicking on the cross on its upper-right corner.
The types of pages available on our project depend on the template that is used. In this way, if you use a Multi-page
template you can have cover and content pages, and if you use a Video template, you will only have content pages.
Consult the documentation of the templates in the appendix of this guide, or if you have created custom-made
templates, consult their documentation to have references about the type of pages, pop-up windows, resources and
components you will be able to use in your projects.
4.3.1. Editing a page
1. Access the project and click on the page you want to edit.
2. Modify whatever you want of the page (components, resources, etc.).

a. Each block of content is called component and it defines the type of content (image, video, document,
etc.) which will be located in that place of the page (see section 4.5.1.). After having created it, you
must include the resource from the repository or from your computer (see section 4.6.4.).
b. The text components can be edited directly on the editing zone.
c. You have to modify certain elements from the right side panel of “Properties” in , for example
the titles or to insert a resource.
3. Click on “Save” on the upper menu to save only the changes performed on the tab you are in or on “Save all”
to save all the project changes.
4. The system will lock the project by default while you are editing one of its pages. When you save the
modifications of a page, the system will ask if you want to keep the content locked (“Keep it locked”), so that
the project cannot be edited by any other user, to “Unlock” it or if you want to “Undo changes”.
The sidebar has five sections:
 “Properties” : in this section the properties of the components of the page are defined. For example, the
dimensions of a video component, titles and subtitles of the components, resource inserted in a component,
etc.
 “Components” : in this section the components that are going to be added to the project pages are
selected.
 “Navigator” : to make it easier to navigate through the components of the page, this zone shows the
hierarchy tree of the components of the page and allows you to access them. Text contents are shown under
the name HTML.
 “Comments” : this zone allows users to write revision comments on the project (see section 4.8.3.).
 “Resolutions” : you can select different resolutions for different devices in this section in order to directly
preview how the content will be viewed.
Depending on the size of the screen from which you are working with the tool, this bar can hide the content of the page
in part, as for example the widgets zone. For this not to happen, select “Auto” in the “Resolutions” section and you will
see the content adjusted to the edition zone.

Remember
More than one user can have permission to work on a project. For this reason, there can be modifications performed
by other user, and other user can even have a project locked so that nobody else can edit it.
4.3.2. Creating a page
1. Go to the project and click on one of its pages.
2. Open the “Pages” dropdown menu of the upper-left corner and click on “Manage pages”.
3. Click on “Add” and select the type of page you want to create.
4.3.3. Deleting a page
2. Open the “Pages” dropdown menu on the upper-left corner and click on “Manage pages”.
3. Select the page from the list and click on “Delete selected”.

3. Click on the page you want to move and place it where you want on the list.
4.3.5. Duplicating a page
3. Click on the icon of the page you want to duplicate.
4. Select “OK” on the pop-on which is displayed asking if you are sure that you want to duplicate the element.
4.4. Pop-ups
The pop-up windows are those windows which open automatically on the browser to show an additional content,
announcement or additional information for the user.
Pop-up windows can be added:
 In a component of the page. Certain components allow to add pop-up windows to download a document, to
access a link, to offer more information, etc.
 In an image: to show additional information about the video/image or to enlarge the image, etc.
 In one or several words of a text: the pop-up window is shown in the word as a link. You can use it to open an
external link, to put a definition of the word, etc.

As it happens with pages, the use and typology of pop-up windows is given by the template we have selected for our
project.
Consult the documentation of the templates in the appendix of this guide, or in case of having created custom-made
templates; consult their documentation to have references of the type of pages, pop-up windows, resources and
components you can use in your projects.
4.4.1. Creating types of pop-up windows in a project
Depending on the template you have chosen to create the project, you will have some types of pop-up windows by
default.
To create new types:
1. Go to the page of the project.
2. Open the “Pop-ups” dropdown menu and choose “Manage pop-ups”.
3. Click on “Add” and choose the type you want to create.
4. The new type of pop-up window will be loaded on this list.
Next, you have to edit the content of the pop-up window.
4.4.2. Editing pop-up windows
You have to edit all the pop-up windows you are going to use in your project (the ones the template has by default as
well as the ones you have created) because they do not have content.
Pop-up windows will work as the components in the tool.
1. Go to the page of the project you wish.
2. Open the “Pop-ups” dropdown menu of the upper-left corner.
3. Choose the window you want to modify on the dropdown menu.
4. Modify what you want from the pop-up window (texts, attached documents, etc.).
 You can modify the texts directly on the content.
 You have to modify certain documents from the right-side panel of “Properties”, for example the
titles or to attach a document.
 The contents you can add to the pop-up window are shown at the bottom of the page (document,
flash document, etc.).

 You can add a pop-up window in the content of another.
4.4.3. Adding pop-up windows to a page of the project
Once the pop-ups of a project have been created and edited, you have to associate them to the contents of the project
that you want.
If the pop-up window has access to content from a component, such as an attached document or a link, select it and
choose the pop-up window on the properties section.
If the pop-up window is located over an image, select the image and choose the pop-up window on the properties
section. You can use the pop-up window, in this case, to give more information about the image or to include the image
in a bigger size so that the user can enlarge it. The icon gives the user access to the pop-up window.

If the pop-up window is on one or several words of a text, select the word and choose “Popup link” on the text tool
bar. The word will appear as if it was a link. Click on it and choose the pop-up window entitled “Link popup” on the
properties menu.
4.4.4. Deleting pop-up windows
1. Go to the page of the project you want.
2. Open the upper-left “Pop-up” dropdown menu.
3. Click on “Manage pop-ups”.
4. Mark the pop-ups you want to delete and click on “Delete selected”.
4.4.5. Duplicating pop-up windows
1. Go to the page of the project you want.
2. Open the upper-left “Pop-up” dropdown menu.
3. Select “Manage pop-ups”.

4. Click on the icon of the pop-up you want to duplicate.
5. Select “OK” on the pop-on which is displayed asking if you are sure that you want to duplicate the element.
4.5. Components of a page
The pages of a project will be made of a structure of components which includes texts, images, videos, etc.
For example, to include an image in a page, you have to create the component first on the place where you want to
insert the image. In this case, the component of the image will define its properties in that place of the project: the size,
if it has a pop-up inside, etc.
The template of the project will have a series of predetermined components on each page. But you will be able to
create more components, edit them, move them or delete them.
These elements will have a box shape. When sliding the mouse over one of them it will be marked with a white line so
that you know which one of them you are editing.
4.5.1. Adding a component on a page
2. Click on one of its content.
3. A side menu which allows you to insert a new content will appear right after it. In the case of text content, it
will also allow you to include other content inside (audio, text, images, etc., depending on the type of
component).
4. Click on the type of content and you will see it immediately on the edition zone. Besides, an upper breadcrumb
will show the component in which you are, and those components or sections in which it is contained.
4.5.2. Editing a component
If it is a text component, you can modify it directly on the edition zone.

You have to modify other characteristics of the components on the “Properties” section of the side menu. For example,
to insert a resource in a component (see section 4.6.4.).
The “Widget container” component creates a side menu with a list of “widgets”. These “widgets” will be small accesses
to resources you want to highlight, rapid accesses to the audiovisual material of the project, reference documents for
the user, etc.
4.5.3. Moving/deleting a component
A tab which allows to move the component to other place of the page or to delete it will be shown when clicking on the
component.
 The arrows allow you to move the component to place it where you wish.
 The dash allows you to delete this component.
4.5.4. Moving/copying components between pages
From the “Navigator” section, besides navigating through the components of the pages and pop-ups, you can copy
them (or cut and paste them) on other pages.

To do so:
1. Select the element on which you want to perform the action.
2. Click on the action you want to perform (“Copy” or “Cut”). It will be sent to the “Clipboard”.
3. Go to the page or pop-up where you wish to paste the component and select the component before or after
which you want to insert it.
4. Click on “Paste” and select “After” or “Before” on the pop-up which is displayed depending on where you
want to insert it.
4.6. Resources of a project
Resources are the files (images, videos, documents, etc.) you include in the project.
To be able to include a resource in a page of a project, you have to create the component in which that resource will be
inserted first (see section 4.5.1.). This component establishes the place and the properties of the resource. For
example, in the case of a video, the component establishes the properties with which the video will be displayed, its
cover image, etc.
4.6.1. List of resources of a project
1. Go to the project by clicking on its name.
2. Go to the “Resources” section on the left-side menu.
3. Click on “Settings” to change the way the list of resources is shown and to choose how to organise them.

In order to perform actions on the elements, right-click and select the action you wish to perform. It is possible to select
multiple elements at the same time to perform actions on them.
Besides viewing, renaming and deleting files, the mouse right button allows us to resize the images, to download a set
of resources in a .ZIP file and to create .ZIP packages to be used inside your project directly from the resources.
4.6.2. Organizing the resources by folders
You can create folders to organize the resources of a project.
To create a folder:
3. Right-click on “Resources” and select “New Subfolder”.
4. Enter the name of the folder and click on “Ok”. You cannot leave this field empty or assign it the same name of
an already existing folder of the project.
Once the folder has been created, click on it. By right-clicking you can delete it, create subfolders inside it from “New
Subfolder”, compress it to a .ZIP file and download it in .ZIP format. To move within the folders, you can use the
navigation tree that you will see below the “Resources” button. You can also delete a whole folder by right-clicking on
“Delete”.

4.6.3. Adding resources to the repository of a project
The repository of resources includes all the files (images, audio, documents, etc.) of the project, whether you add them
from the details of the project, or directly from the pages of edition.
We recommend you to include in the repository all the resources (videos, images, files, etc.) you are going to use in the
project and that you only insert them at the time of editing each page of the project.
 The drop zone allows you to select several files on your computer and to add them to the repository
at the same time. This feature makes the uploading of resources faster and more agile.
 You can also create them one by one using the “Upload” button.
3. If you want to add resources to a folder, click on it and drag them directly or click on “Upload”.
4.6.4. Inserting resources on the pages of a project
Once the components of a page have been created (see section 4.5.1.), you can insert resources inside them.
The component establishes the place and properties of the resource. For example, in the case of a video, the
component establishes the proportions of the video, its cover image, etc.
2. Click on the component in which you want to add the resource.
3. Select the resource on the “Properties” section of the component.

4. On the next screen, you can choose a resource from the repository or add a new one.
5. To insert it in the page, slide the mouse over the icon of the resource and double-click on it.
If you want to access a folder, click on it. You can use the navigation tree in the left side to move within the folders.
4.6.5. Deleting resources from the repository of a project

4.7. Quizzes of a project
A quiz is a group of questions organised whose objective is to get information from the person who answers them.
There are two types: assessment quizzes (they are used to evaluate the knowledge of the person answering the quiz)
and opinion quizzes (surveys).
4.7.1. Creating a quiz
Quizzes are created inside a project through an editor as an external element to pages. You can use as many as are
necessary and they will always be associated with just one language. In turn, they can be assessable or not.
To create a new quiz:
2. Go to the “Quizzes” section on the left-side menu.
3. Click on the button.
4. Name the quiz and select its language. In case that your project has several languages, you will be able to
create different quizzes for each language and then include them in the pages of each one of them. If you
prefer, you can use the same quiz in both languages (see section 4.11.).
Once created, if you slide the mouse over the “Actions” column, you will be able to preview, open or delete the quiz,
and after accessing it you may also edit it, unlock it or undo changes.
As they are an external element to pages, they have their own locking level, that is, it is possible to work with them
independently. Besides, they use the project resources (for example, images), they can be linked with other
components of the project (such as pop-ups) and they have their own version system (see section 4.12.).
4.7.2. Editing a quiz
To edit a quiz:
1. Go to the project where the quiz you want to modify is located by clicking on its name.
2. You can manage the questions from the “Slides” dropdown menu on the upper-left corner.
3. Select the type of question you want to create from the “Add” dropdown menu (see section 4.7.3.).

4. Next, you have to edit the content of the quiz. You can modify the texts directly over the content. From the
“Properties” right-side panel you can modify everything related to the score (see section 4.7.2.1.).
The properties which can be modified from the header of the quizzes are the following:

default, so that all questions have the same value. If you select “True”,

that is, if the score will be taken into account for the final score of the
course or not.

you select “False”, they will be shown in the order you have selected.
Question Poll Numerical No Number of questions which will be shown when answering the quiz. If
“True” is selected for the “Randomise Quiz” property, the indicated
number of questions will be shown randomly. If “False” is selected, the
indicated number of questions will be shown but in the order in which
they are in the project.

5. The content you can add to the quiz will be shown at the bottom of the page as, for example, positive or
negative feedback in the case of assessable quizzes.
The properties which can be modified from the footer of the quiz are the following:

List Yes If you select “True”, users may see the score they get at the same time
they answer the questions. If you select “False”, they will not see their
score.

4.7.2.1. Assessable quizzes
They are used to calculate the score of the user. The final score is calculated with the score average of all the assessable
quizzes which are included (not assessable quizzes do not interfere in the calculation of the score). The passed/failed
limit is marked at the project level or within the editable properties from the activity header. To do so, each question is
worth several points (“Ponderate score”) that the user will obtain if he or she answers the question correctly. Training
platforms standardise the total score of the quiz to 100 points by default, so that all questions have the same value.
The student’s answers are tracked through a proprietary API which sends them in a standard way to the platform.
Depending on the publishing format of the project, the delivery format will vary: SCORM 1.2 or SCORM 2004 (through
interactions), Tin Can API (through statements)… This way, teachers can view the answers regardless of the platform
they use.

4.7.3. Types of questions
The possible types of questions that a quiz can contain are the following:
4.7.3.1. Single Answer
It consists on selecting the correct answer from several different options (there is just one correct answer). It is also
known as “abc type”.
The properties which can be edited for this type of question are:

It consists on selecting the correct answer/s from several different options (there can be more than one correct
answer). In case that there are several correct answers and only one of them is marked, the answer will be considered
as incorrect. It is also known as “multiple abc type”.

It consists on link concepts from two columns.

4.7.3.7. Numeric Response
It consists on answering with a figure.

values...). It is modified from the properties panel. In case that the result is
between two values, there are possible separators that are introduced in the
“Answer” property: hyphen (-), semicolon (;) and colon (:).

4.7.3.8. Sequence
It consists on organising a series of elements as it is indicated in the question statement. To do so, the user has to
exchange the items’ positions by clicking on one of them first and then on another one. This way, the items will
exchange their positions.

4.7.3.9. Long Fill In
It consists on giving an answer in a specific number of lines. It is also known as “free answer” and it is based on a

It is a type of not assessable question used for knowing the level of agreement or disagreement with a statement.

4.7.3.11. Word Bank
It consists on placing one or several boxes in their corresponding gaps in a statement. To do so, the user has to select
first the gap and then the box with the corresponding text.

4.7.3.12. Crossword
It is the typical crossword in which the user will have to match the answers with its cells.

definition for which the user has to give the answer by filling the crossword cells.
These are edited from the cells themselves. The tool will eliminate all the non-
filled ones to create the final crossword.

4.7.3.13. Final Feedback
It is a feedback of the quiz as a whole where the final score obtained is indicated, as well as the needed score to pass it
and the number of correct exercises. The button will be only active once all the questions have been
answered correctly or when the number of attempts for the questions is over.
The components which can be added within the final feedback are the following:
Final Feedback 1..N No Html text which will show when the score obtained is between the values you
indicate in the “Properties” panel.
Final Feedback KO 1..N No Html text which will show when the quiz is not passed.
Final Feedback OK 1..N No Html text which will show when the quiz is passed.

The text that will be viewed can be directly modified from the HTML editor. What appears on the HTML component as
“%score_obtained%”, will be substituted by the percentage obtained when completing the quiz; “%score_min%”
represents the minimum score required for passing the quiz; %exercises_correct%” and “%exercises_total%” refer to
the number of correct answers and the total number of questions in the quiz, respectively.

4.7.4 Adding quizzes to the page of a project
Once the quizzes have been created and edited, you have to include them inside the project. To do so, you have to go
to the page of the project and introduce them from the “Quiz” component as any other component (see section 4.5.).
Depending on the chosen template, you will be able to use it in different types of pages and pop-ups.
4.8. Collaborative work of a project
The tool allows several users to work at the same time on the same project.
To make collaborative work easier, the tool will have several options:
 To lock the content so that no other user can edit it (see next section).
 Status flow of the project, which allows to indicate the phase in which the project is inside the working system
(see section 4.8.2.).
 Comments on the pages of the project for review and collaboration tasks (see section 4.8.3.).
4.8.1. Locking/unlocking a project
Several users can have permissions to modify the same project. This feature allows you to lock the project so that the
rest of the users cannot modify it until you unlock it.
The “Locked” column shows if the project is locked by a user.

When clicking on “Open”, the project is automatically locked and the editor opens. When you close the editor, the
system will ask you if you wish to keep the project locked, if you want to unlock it or if you prefer to undo changes.
You can lock or unlock a project from the editor’s upper menu or from the “Details” section of the project.
You will not be able to edit a project locked by other user. If you wish to do so, contact that user or an administrator so
that they can unlock it.
Remember
The system will automatically lock the project when it is being edited. Upon closing the editor ( ), the system will
ask you if you want to “Keep it locked”, to “Unlock” the content or to “Undo changes”.
4.8.2. Status of the project
The status indicates the phase of the project in the process of production. The system will not change the status
automatically; the users themselves have to do so.
When creating a project, its status will be “Draft”. This indicates that the content of the project is still being set up and
edited.
Once this phase is done, the project can be changed to an “In Review” phase which indicates that the project is being
corrected and reviewed to improve its content or its design. Remember that the users can write comments with their
reviews (see next section).
Finally, once the changes considered appropriate have been corrected, the project will change to the “Reviewed” phase
which indicates that the project is validated and ready to be published.
You can see the status of a project from the project list.
To modify the status of a project:
1. Go to the “Details” section of the project.
2. Click on “Change status”.
3. Select the status to which you want to change the project and click on “Accept”.

4.8.3. Reviews and comments system of a project
The users who have edition permission in a project can see and write comments in the project.
This function can be used, for example, to inform about the content and/or design corrections of the project that are to
be achieved, so that users who are going to perform these changes can see the pending comments, answer them or
write new ones.
Although it is not necessary, it will be convenient to put the project on “In revision” status while making reviews and
comments so that all users who are working on it know so.
1. Go to the page of the project in which you want to include the comments.
2. Click on “Preview”.
3. Click on “Show comments”.
4. Enter your comment and click on “Add”.
5. You can answer to other user comment below it.
6. You can also “Edit” and “Delete” your own comments.
Each time a new comment is created, authors are notified by e-mail. Moreover, when a comment is replied, an e-mail is
sent to the people participating in the discussion, both authors and reviewers.
4.9. Previewing a project
While you are on the content edition phase, you can preview it to know how the user would see this content.
2. Click on “Preview”.
3. If the project is created in several languages, choose the language or languages in which you want to see it.
The upper-left menu allows you to adapt the content to different formats to see how the content adapts to the size of
different devices.

You have also access to the revisions column from the page of preview through the link “Show comments” (see
section 4.8.3.).
4.10. Publishing a project
When you publish a project, you inform that its content is ready and you allow that it is available to be downloaded in
the chosen format and languages. In addition, when you publish the project you can also programme it to be
automatically uploaded to a platform.
2. Click on “Publish”.
3. Select the languages and format in which you want to publish it. You can select a platform compatible with
PENS in which you want the project to be uploaded automatically. To be able to publish a project
automatically in a platform, it has to be previously defined in learningMaker to do so.
4. So that you can easily identify the published versions of your project, use the standardised X.Y.Z versioning
system. This system acts as a versions repository.
5. Click on “Publish”. Once the publishing is over, the system will notify you that it is available for download, and
it will show a link from which you will be able to access it.

You will see the list of versions and formats in which the project has been published on the “Publications” tab (whether
you are the publisher or not). The “Options” column allows you to download the final product. It is also possible, from
the “Options” column of a folder, to publish all the projects it contains and download them at once by using your
favourite download manager.
4.11. Working with several languages
You can create your project in several languages.
2. Click on “Edit languages” on the details page of the project.
3. Select the languages and click on “Add”.
4. Click on “Accept” to confirm the operation.
A copy of the structure of the project and its content will be created automatically. This copy will be identical to the
original, so you have to modify its content on the corresponding language.

You can change the language from the edition screen of a page by selecting it on the upper menu. Remember to save
the changes of the current language before changing the language so that you do not lose the modifications that you
have performed.
4.12. Versions
Versions are copies of the project generated each time a user performs changes and saves them. You can restore a
previous version of the project from this section.
4.12.1. Tagging a version
The list of versions shows the author and the date when the project was last saved.
You can only perform this action if the project is not locked by any user and if you are administrator of the system.
The “tag” option allows you to add a tag to a version of the project to identify it easier.
1. Go to the “Versions” section of the project.
2. Slide the mouse over the actions column to show the “Actions” menu.
3. Click on “Tag”.
4. Write the name of the tag and click on “Accept”.
We recommend:
Creating the design and content in the original language before creating the project in other languages.
The reason is because when creating a project in a second language, the system will copy the structure and content
of the original language. However, the changes you make later in the original language may not be applied to the
other languages.

4.12.2. Restoring a version
You can only perform this action if the project is not locked by any user and if you are administrator of the system.
1. Go to the “Versions” section of the project.
2. Slide the mouse over the “Actions” column to show the “Actions” menu.
3. Click on “Restore”.
4. A new version will be generated on this list, which is a copy of the version that you have restored.

5. Books
To create a new book:
1. Click on “New book”.
2. Fill in the creation form (data not mandatory) and select “Add”.
3. Add projects to the book.
4. From the projects page, select “Edit structure” to edit the order of the projects.
5. From the “Structure” section as well, you have to assign one of the projects as the cover by selecting “Assign
as cover” in the “Options” column. This will allow linking the projects within the book.
6. Finally, choose “Publish” on the “Options” dropdown menu.
Besides performing the same actions you can perform with projects or folders (publishing, renaming, deleting...), you
may also turn a book into a folder (“Convert to folder”) or, the other way round, turn a folder into a book (“Convert to
book”).

6. Support
From the administration section, from the left side of the screen, you have access to a tab named “Support”. It is a tool
which will make the communication with our technical and support team easier. When clicking on this tab, a pop-up
will be displayed and you will be able to enter a keyword to do a search. When clicking on “Next”, questions (with their
respective answers) containing the searched word will be shown, and these may solve your doubts. If not, you can send
your specific consultation by selecting “None of these are helpful – get in touch”. In the new pop-up which is displayed,
you will have to fill in the mandatory fields (question, details, name, email address, and product) and click on “Submit”.

 Permission: consent given to a user so that he or she can perform an operation or action. In this case,
permissions of each project are defined so that the users can see it, edit it and publish it.
 Project: e-learning content which can be created immediately from this tool in different formats.
 Publish: make a content public. Published contents are those which are finished and ready to be used.
 Resource: multimedia element used for the composition of a project. There are different types: audio, video,
activities, etc.
 Responsive design: is a design and development technique which allows the adaptation of web content to a
device from which the user access (televisions, smartphones, tablets, mobile, etc).
 Status: condition or situation of a process which is made of several phases. Success and failure status can be
selected on the tool and will be shown on the platform in which the content is used when the student
performs it.
 Subscription: regarding the contracting of a service, the characteristics and duration of that contract.
 User: each participant who accesses the tool.
