The question is not whether we want a particular innovation in our society, but how civilized we want it! Leon Dohmen is chairman of the special interest group Research and Education at the Royal Dutch Association of Information Professionals.Together with representatives of politics, government, science, interest groups and the business community, the special interest group deals with the field of tension between digitization and (the violation of) the fundamental rights of people. One of the main goals is to increase the awareness of IT professionals with regard to this field of tension and the influence they can exert on it.
